So I was writing this very angsty dark!fic that was all Jack/Daniel, but my computer was freezing for minutes at a time and I had to turn it off so it could refresh. I thought I saved what I had worked on, but I guess I hadn't. Three whole pages gone. Pisses me off so much.
It is of course not the only thing I'm working on. There's the new WaT story I started yesterday, the Best Laid Plans series I have started (I'm on the third installment, but I keep... stalling), those Nick/Greg stories I requested.
Then there's this weird crossover fic (WaT/SGA) that has John as Sam's ex-husband and he comes to town with Rodney and Rodney's all upset because he has to see his boyfriend's ex-wife and then Sam drags Martin along because Martin's upset that Whorelena is pressing up on Danny and then they all ended up having lunch together and wackiness ensues.
oh and there's this Rodney was a pornstar and John finds out crack!fic that I want to write, but am too afraid to even contemplate
But this... this is a small ficlet I wrote in frustration to losing my other fic. It is of course Rodney/Lorne

Summary: Radek knows even if everyone else hasn't caught on
Author's Notes: Silly little thing I wrote
Radek Zelenka considers himself a fairly observant man, but it doesn’t take a genius or the greatest detective in the world to know that one Rodney McKay and one Major Lorne are getting it on together.
It’s a pretty simple thing to see, really, if you know what you’re looking for. Of course all of the science staff seems to think Rodney and the Colonel are the ones in a relationship, which Radek can see as well.
There’s definitely something about the relationship Rodney has with the Colonel that could be misconstrued that way.
Radek even has a feeling that maybe there was something there, something that ended either right before the Major came to Atlantis or slightly after. No one would notice though. They still act the same around one another and, if Radek didn’t have the information that he already had, he’d believe that they were still in a relationship.
“They are so in love.” He once heard one of the female scientists say.
“I know, it’s like they’re… destined.”
“Oh and they’re just too cute with each other.”
“It’s just too bad we can’t get any PDAs because of that whole ‘Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell’ military thing. Because that would be hot.”
Radek feels like crying over how stupid they sound and knows if Rodney heard them that he would yell at them and talk about getting them shipped off on the Daedelus.
They sit and present evidence on how compatible Rodney and the Colonel are. Talk about the things they say to each other when the Colonel wanders into the lab. And Radek certainly thinks that they have a nice point.
But Radek knows better.
“I’m busy right now.” Rodney says frantically into his headset.
Radek knows he’s got it set to a frequency that no one else on Atlantis can hear. And really it's the same thing everyday so Radek knows that eventually, Rodney will give in.
“This is very valuable research I’m doing right now that can not be left to sit alone even for a few moments.” Rodney says.
There’s a reply that no one else can hear, but all the scientist lean in to try and hear and Rodney’s sighing and smiling at the same time.
“Fine, how can I argue with that logic.” Rodney says as he puts his tools down and sighs again.
“I’m going to lunch. Try not to blow up the city in my absence.” Rodney says before he leave the lab.
That’s when the talking starts. People gossiping and presenting very interesting, very, in Radek’s opinion, acrobatic things that Rodney could be doing with a certain Air Force Colonel.
Radek knows that truth though.
Rodney’s with Major Lorne, in Major Lorne’s quarters, actually eating lunch. The Major gets their lunches from the mess, chats up Rodney on the private frequency and somehow manages to convince Rodney to leave his important work for the hour before Rodney reappears in the labs, a little less angry and irritated than when he left.
Some would chalk that up to sex, but Radek knows they save that for later.
He’s seen them in Rodney’s office, double locked because both Rodney and Major Lorne have the gene, but Radek can be crafty when he needs to be. They just sit there and eat and talk and Radek knows that means more than any sniping arguments or flirtatious banter that passes between the Colonel and Rodney.
And late at night, when everyone has gone home and it’s just Rodney and Radek, Major Lorne comes to the labs looking tired and anxious and Radek knows that his suspicions are confirmed.
“Hey Doc.” Lorne says and he yawns just a bit.
“Major.” Radek says.
He’s usually packing up to go to his quarters at this time, but Rodney’s still tinkering away at the ancient device they’ve been working on all day. Radek watches as the Major walks over to Rodney, trying to look unassuming and stealthy, but he just looks like a man who wants his favorite pillow.
“McKay.” He says.
Radek doesn’t know why he just doesn’t say Rodney. He must be aching too, Radek knows this. Has heard the Major call Rodney by his first name and for some reason he can’t say it without smiling.
Radek knows that’s how people in love usually act.
“Hmmm… busy.”
“It’s late.”
“Yes and I’m on my way to a major break through. If I just had a few more hours to check out the data…”
“It’s late.”
“You’ve said that.” Rodney says looking over at Lorne with a glare.
“It’s late.” Lorne repeats.
Rodney rolls his eyes.
“You’re acting very stupid at the moment.”
“I’m tired.”
“I can see that.” Rodney says looking the Major over with a frown.
“I thought you didn’t have any missions today.”
“I didn’t, but Colonel Sheppard took it upon himself to put us through training tests… against Ronon. You would think, as a Major, I would be exempt. But no… and did I mention it was against Ronon.”
“You poor baby.” Rodney says as he lifts his hand up to caress Lorne’s face.
He leans into it for a minute, but then he must realize that Radek is still in the room because he pulls away and looks a little frightened.
“Rodney.”
“Don’t mind, Radek. He has his own theories on the matter. In fact he’s pretty sure you and I have been together since the whole sun radiation wild goose chase planet.”
“What?”
“You are not very good at hiding yourselves.” Radek points out.
“I thought we were pretty good.” Lorne says with a pout.
Rodney rolls his eyes.
“Isn’t he cute.” Rodney says dryly.
“Hmmm.” Radek says.
“Hey.” Lorne says with another pout.
Radek thinks it’s very refreshing to see a soldier like this and he’ll have to thank Rodney for that some day.
“Some say Rodney is with Colonel, but way to Rodney’s heart is definitely through his stomach.” Radek says as he pick up his laptop.
“Keep the lunch dates, Major. It gives us peace and quiet for one hour of the day.” Radek says.
Lorne still looks a little indignant and tired, but he just sputters nonsense as Rodney ushers him out of the lab, soft smile on his face. Rodney spares a glare in Radek’s direction and Radek knows he’ll probably have to pay for that comment tomorrow with rants and sarcastic comments.
But Radek can’t do anything but smile and shake his head.
