He hates himself.
He does mean that, in every sense of the word.
Hate. It's such a... strong emotion. And he never knew himself to... well, he never thought he would sink to...
It hurts to think about it, so he doesn't.
After the fact, he returns to New York a broken man. He doesn't touch the abilities, because he's ashamed. He feels like complete and total filth for what happened there, in Toronto, in some fucking open field.
And now all he can do is fix watches, feeling broken himself about it.
Nothing makes sense anymore. He can't fucking fix this.
