Jul 31, 2008 15:38

Hakuba wasn't quite sure how this game was going to be played. He wasn’t even sure about Kuroba coming to his house to talk about the lates days. It was a sensation he should be used to, the uncertainty but....no ( Read more... )

Ah you minx! XD clockmaster July 31 2008, 14:27:52 UTC
Hakuba nearly dropped the book in surprise. Nearly. Instead of that, he gave to the teenager hanging over him like a parody of his own hawk, a dirty look. He tried to repress a the snarky reply that come to his lips, but it wasn’t in his nature.

“Even if it’s quite big, the front door is easy to see.” He replied mildly, watching the coloured ball on Kaito’s hands. As much as he know, they could be gas bombs too, and getting Kuroba angry would get him nowhere.

“Kafka on the Shore, from Haruki Murakami.” They both just looked at each other, the moment stretching into silence, until Hakuba remembered some manners. “Please, have a seat.” He gestured towards the couch in front of him.

(OOC:; I’m actually reading this book XD)

"Because acting like a normal person is....boring." The young detective gave him a plane glare, but he was still aware of the colourd balls. Kaito was really good at this little game, he never dropped any of them. But He was glad when Kaito stopped it and adopted a (totally fake) relaxed pose.

"I think that you already know that. And no, I'm not talking about the Kid, if you're going to joke about that. I'm talking about someone less manly (even if not much)and more affected by our last behaviors." Hakuba always liked to go to the point, there was no reasons to avoid the real meaning of their encounter.

(OOC: awww, I have to go to work again ...real life is boring D: )

Hakuba resisted the urge to throw his book at Kaito. This time it worked

"Aoko."

They stared at each other again, but this time the silence was different. More gauging. Even if Kaito’s face didn’t reflect nothing, Hakuba knew an advice when he heard one.

He opted for a different approach then. Hakuba left the book and got more confortable on the couch. If he just pretended everything was normal, he might be able to talk with Kuroba, instead on think that he was in his home tlaking with the Thief he must be arresting. His head tilted in a curious gesture.

“How was to be married to her?”He tried to sound the less hostile posible. “She was a nice sister. At least he didn’t drugged me or anything like that.”

There was something strange on Kuroba's face, so fast he might have missed if it he weren't used to attempting to pick up clues from the Kid's expression, before it fell into a bland mask of nonchalance.

Creepy. This was definitely rated high up on the bizarre situation he was been mixed in to interactscale.

"Do you think you could drop it? The smile. As a personal favour?" The tone was wistful, but there was a 'before I have to hurt you' part of the statement, which was no less valid.

Hakuba recognized Kuroba’s words as Kaito going into Aoko-protective mode. His friendship with both Kuroba and Aoko was nowhere near stable and the last thing he cared to do was alienate either of them, but this was going out of hand. And he really didn’t want them to end like Irene and him. Hakuba usually wondered why he cared at all, he could live without a heart after all.

The detective looked around room with his hands in his pockets in what could be interpreted as a too innocuous to be believed gesture.

“Maybe, maybe not.”

Evil Hakuba...is really evil >D clockmaster July 31 2008, 22:17:47 UTC
This time Hakuba wanted to use the book to hit himself. Talking with Kaito was like running in circles. He didn’t pay attention to Kuroba’s insults and jokes, he was too used to it now.

Oh, but he noticed it, it was his job to notice things after all...the small, nearly imperceptible, change in the corner of Kaito's grin.

He knew how to play that game too and seemed a shame to let the age-old battle of wits go to waste, especially with Kaito sitting in front of him.

“Good, because I was planning on ask her if she want to go to Paris with me. You know, they call it the city of love....And looks like she needs to clarify some things...I’m sure I can help her with that.”

Good, because Hakuba is being an ass...and getting payback. clockmaster July 31 2008, 22:38:37 UTC
Now, now,...finally some light at the end of the tunnel, Hakuba thought

“Personal things.” He admitted, a smirk tugging at the corners of his mouth. He moved a hand in a slightly manner and a shrugged his shoulders. “About the last virus.”

Hakuba looked at him serious, the smirk gone.

”Now looks like you decided to talk.” Usually the Kuroba got the last word in, but this time he figured it was his turn. And it was damn amusing, even if the situation wasn't.

"We talk a bit, she didn't feel like talking much at all. Nakamori's -not- angry with you, but..."
