So, Nick moved back home. Which is good. I'm not meant to be alone all the time, I think. Anyway, we went to see My Life With the Thrill Kill Kult last night. It was a lot of fun. I think I was the only person in the audience not wearing black.
Something about these pseudo-goth kids and the Masquerade got me thinking. Here's what I thought:
1. I'm a big fan of legs. Apparently the new trend is really really short skirts that don't cover your ass. When I was a kid, (I can't believe I can say that, now, and have it be semi-relevant) all of the goth chicks wore plaid skirts or long black ones. Now they're all about the uber-mini, and I'm okay with that.
2. More bars need to carry Sparks. I mean, really. NewCastle is fine and all, but it doesn't really get you going. I need something lighter, and really - who doesn't need caffeinated malt liquor?
Well, okay. That's really all I thought about. Well, one more thing:
3. Not all goth-kid bands are very good. You get the ones that are really bad, but catchy, like the Crux Shadows. Then you get the ones that are just bad. Bad. Awful. And there were two of them before MLWTKK.
I got a job. I'm a proofreader for some forensic accountants. It's cool so far. Then again, I'm probably ruining my eyes reading through these things.
