Achoo!!!! Bless me or gesundheit.

1. What is your favorite type of literature to read (magazine, newspaper, novels, nonfiction, poetry, etc.)? I hardly ever read any of these - i prefer movie rentals. But i would rather read Fiction-Sci-Fi and a little poetry here and there-mainly done by the crew themselves.

LOTR but the damn thing is too long. (3 books) i rather wait 3 years to see the whole Saga in film

No! The films are book-rapage. They completely miss all the important points, and what important points they manage to not miss, they cheapen. Strongly suggest taking a deep breath and getting into it...

I still rather see the Film with all the special effects and hotties working in it. I opened the book and it is too much narrative for me-i get easily distracted with other on-goings.

Oh, I'm enjoying the films too.
The story sucks, but they do an amazing job at providing audio-visual aanimated pictures for the scenes from the book. I just ignore the story :)

We had a movie night last year with the extended edition, and one of the guests was a man who in addition to having a Master's in history (and has a commanding familiarity with the folklore sources Tolkein used), re-reads the whole trilogy at least once a year. At any rate, at various points during the movie, he'd ask for us to pause, or someone else would ask for an explanation, and he'd launch into this absolutely fascinating discussion as to why this plot point or another was so important and how it related to Middle-Earth history. If he were not such an accomplished storyteller, or if we were all not already familiar with the film, it would've been annoying, but believe me, it wasn't. He held us spellbound for a good 15-20 minutes at a stretch sometimes. It really added a lot to the evening.

Yea saw that too. But the guy re-reads it yearly. Can't he just go out and see a new filmout?
