Chapter Twelve: The Morning After Kris smiled and wrapped her arms around the warm body laying next to her and entwined one of her legs with his. Snuggling closer, she sighed in content and smiled when she felt him run his fingertips up and down her side.
Dustin pulled Kris closer and tightened his arm around her. He propped himself up on his elbow and watched her, while he ran his hand from the bottom of her chest down to her hip. He watched her with half closed eyes and smiled down at her. Cupping her face, he leaned down softly pressed his lips to her’s.
Kris smiled into the kiss and ran her hands over his smooth chest down to the top of his pants. Gripping the waistband, she pulled him towards her so he was now laying half on top of her. Dustin moaned and ended the kiss.
“Morning.” Kris smiled.
Dustin frowned and brushed some hair out of her eyes.
“What’s wrong?”
“Nothing, its just...I’ve missed you a lot, Kris. You have no idea how much I’ve missed you...” he whispered.
“I’ve missed you t...too.”
Dustin smiled and leaned down to kiss her again. Kris ran her hands from Dustin’s neck, over his chest and down to his torso. Dustin gripped Kris’ hips and maneuvered himself so that he was now laying between her legs. Kris deepened the kiss and gripped the waistband of his pants one more time and pulled him closer to the point where they couldn’t tell where one of them ended and the other began.
Running his hands up her sides, Dustin moved down and kissed and nipped at the now exposed skin from the rising shirt. Kris ran her hands through his spiked hair and chewed on her bottom lip, as memories of earlier times with him came rushing back. She felt him sit up and place his hands on her back, pulling her into a sitting position. Kris opened her eyes to meet his lust filled ones and swallowed the lump that was forming in her throat. Dustin rested his forehead against her’s and kissed her lightly, then broke the kiss and gently pulled her tank top over her head, dropping it on the floor. Kris closed her eyes and buried her face in the crook of his neck as he ran his hands over her shoulders and down her back. Resting them on her lower back, he leaned forward, causing her to lay down again and his hands moved back to her hips.
“Kris...?” he whispered as he kissed her neck.
A moan was all he got for an answer.
“I still love you, Kris...” Dustin felt her hands move to his shoulders and push lightly. Pulling away from her warm body, he looked down at her. “What’s wrong?”
“Y...you still love me?”

“So you wanna go get breakfast?” asked Tango as he pulled his shirt over his head.
“Yeah, sure. I know this great spot by the Common.” Steve said and leaned down to kiss him.
Tango smiled and sat down on the bed to pull on his shoes. Once him and Steve were dressed, the left the hotel room and jumped when they heard Jay and Grant call them. Turning to see them locking their hotel room door, they smiled and waved.
“Hey man, what are you doing here?” asked Grant.
“Oh, um. Just came by to see if you guys wanted to grab some breakfast.” Steve said.
“Sure...where’s Kris?” asked Jay.
“Kris? She’s uh, she’s back at the apartment. She wanted to get some more sleep before therapy.”
“Alright, cool. Lets go get Dustin and grab some food.”
“He’s over at Steve’s. He said he already ate so he would keep an eye on Kris.” Tango said. “Make sure she was okay and all.”
“Alright, well, lets go.”

“Of course.”
“But its b...been 4 years...” whispered a shocked Kris.
Dustin leaned down and kissed her. “I’ve loved you from the moment I saw you, Kris. Always have, always will. Nothing will ever change that. Understand?”
Kris nodded and smiled as Dustin leaned back down and kissed her. Moving down her tan body, Dustin kissed every exposed piece of flesh he came in contact with. Laying between her legs, Dustin kissed his way down to the top of her underwear, then moved to the inside of her thigh.
Kris pushed at Dustin’s shoulders and jumped up to sit near the headboard. She pulled her knees up to her chest and starred at him. Sitting up, Dustin moved to sit next to her and brushed some hair out of her face.
“Kris, babe, it’s okay. I’m not going to hurt you.”
“I know...” Kris whispered as she hid behind her legs.
Dustin brushed her hair with his hand and tried to see her face. “Then what? Did I do something wrong?”
“No...I just...I don’t know.” she mumbled.
Dustin pulled her into his arms so that she was now sitting on his lap and rubbed his hand up and down her arm. Kris laid her head on his shoulder and traced the muscles of a starting six-pack.
“Come on, tell me what’s wrong.” He said and craned his neck to look at her. Kris shrugged her shoulders and watched his chest and stomach as he breathed. “Tell me what’s wrong, Kris.” Dustin pushed.
“Not ready.”
“Oh, god, Kris, I’m sorry. I wasn’t thinking. I’m sorry, babe.” he said and kissed her temple.
“I want to...believe me, I def...defiantly want to, but I...I’m not ready.” Kris stuttered.
“It’s okay, baby. I shouldn’t have even started anything.”
“I’m glad you did...” Dustin chuckled and Kris looked at him. “But we can’t d...do anything until I g...get a divorce, anyway.”
“Understandable.” There was a long pause in which neither of them looked at each other until Dustin cleared his throat. “Wanna go get some breakfast before your therapy?”
Kris nodded and moved off Dustin’s lap and stood up. Pulling on her jeans, she smiled and turned to see Dustin leaning back on his elbows watching her. She picked up the recently taken off tank top and slipped it over her head. “Gonna get dressed?” she giggled and pulled on the shirt she was wearing the night before.
“In a minute.” he smiled.
Dustin watched her finish getting dressed, then smiled when she walked over to him and placed her hands on the bed next to him. She leaned forward between his legs and kissed him. Smiling like an idiot, Dustin deepened the kiss and pouted when she pulled away.
“Come on, lazy bones. I’m hungry.”
