probabilities

So this week was nice-- short and quiet. Since there weren't many people in the office, we did individual orders from Smallman's (faxed in together) for Friday lunch. When the sheet got to me, I immediately got a sinking feeling in my stomach. I have awful luck with orders like this. If the restaurant forgets one, it's usually mine. And indeed, on Friday when the order arrived, there was no grilled cheese with "Carol" on the box to be found. Our new office manager was a doll and called them and went to pick it up.

I asked a few other people if this ever happens to them, and they said never. But I remember one time in college that we ordered from Larry and Carol's and they forgot my manicotti, and another time at work when the Bagel Factory didn't make my sandwich (admittedly, I think they forgot a few people that time) and I know there have been others. I don't order anything unusual, and I don't *think* I'm on any sort of blacklist... oh well. Guess that's just how the probabilities line up!
