since i'm currently 'in between film productions', i decided to record my sleeping hours because the pattern's so fucked up.
(if you can't see clearly, top of the image is midnight and bottom of the image is 11pm)
as you can see, on the average, i sleep from 6am to 4pm, almost ten hours. but that's misleading because i NEVER get 10 straight hours of sleep (more below). but for some strange reason i'm not more rested than when i had regular sleeping hours. and although i started exercising more (walking, some jogging, swimming once to twice a week, and minimal weights), i don't feel healthier. mentally, keeping this nocturnal lifestyle is not all that great. vast majority of my time is spent during the night and most of that is spent in my tiny room, confined to either watching downloaded movies/tv shows, reading with ipad or playing games on xbox.
if i'm going to start another project in feb-ish, i better get back into the normal routine, but without a firm reason to force myself to wake up earlier and earlier, it's hard to not keep pressing the snooze button. i've been trying but in the past week, i set my alarm to 11am and found myself snoozing at least half dozen times, then resetting the alarm to 1pm, snoozing several more times, then another reset to 3pm, then snooze some more, and ultimately wake up at 4pm. adding to this, i wake up a handful of times in the middle of my sleep due to email, sms, kakao msg, IMs and phone call (all via iphone). i think this adds much to my restlessness so i decided to start using airplane mode when sleeping and disconnect to the internet and cell network so that i don't get interrupted in my sleep. if i can get 7 hours of uninterrupted sleep, it's possible that i can feel rested and start slowly to get back into my regular sleeping pattern. hopefully this method will work. i'll keep recording my sleeping patterns to see if there's any improvements.
