So I finished reading
Iron Council last night, and I have to say that I was somewhat disappointed. The characters never really grabbed me - they seemed sort of stock characters, most of whose angst revolved around the typical unrequited love aimed at one aloof b/c he's brilliant - and the plot seemed overflowing with deus ex machina sort of ploys (esp. the ending, which I won't reveal here if any of you (
nacilmeiel?) plan to read it). It's sad: I loved Perdido Street Station and I really loved The Scar, and I had reasonably high expectations for this book. Ah well.
Now onto Woolf's To The Lighthouse. Quite a change, eh?

x_los, I got your plea, and I'm trying to come up with some titles that you won't already have read.]
