the bredth and beauty of life.
I am three weeks away from graduating from the North Carolina School of Natural Healing in Asheville NC. A month or so away from obtaining my massage and bodywork liscence. I am profundly transformed by this experiece. I feel like i am finally living my potential. Happy healthy doing something that i resonate with to my core. I am incredibly excited to join the community of natural healers locally and globally. This summer i am working at a place called The Laughing Seed Cafe. A vegetarian resturan in downtown--my teacher and friend Althea makes their soup. Its been/will be great fun working with her in a resturant where i feel good about serving their mostly organic vegie cuisine.
This week i have made another big decision that will greatly influence my path. Though i fought against going to a 4 year college for so long as some sort of personal battle against conformity i am taking the excellent oppertunity to use the Promise Scholarship to go to shepheard university in the fall. I am still resistant in some ways, but i have nothing to loose. its free!! if it doesn't resonate with me, then i can leave, no harm done. I am very open and optomistic about it.It will facilitate a lot of my creative outlets that i put on hold while going to natural healing school--theatre, photography, art...i am interested in taking the sustainable agriculture class as well as other environmental stuides classes there. And i am also beyond excitment about practicing massage and natural healing in shepherdstown. i think it is a place in WV that will be very recptive to my work.
It will be challenging to leave my partner Benjamin, but i think it will work to further the growth of both our souls. We have been needing to focus on ourselves more, and this is the perfect oppertunity.
I am hoping to be able to live off-campus, though i know that living in a dorm is the rule of thumb the first year. However, Justin seems to think that sense i have been through Natural Healing school and am (will be) a liscenced massage therapist that i can work my way arround it. It would make me very excited to be able to have my 2 kittens Shiva and Luna with me while i was there instead of leaving them with Benjamin or my Momma. As well, i would like to find a house up there that i could use as both my residence and my Office. We'll see. I am allowing everything to flow, knowing that whatever will best serve me will come to be.
