sandra day o'connor's retirement means a new appointment to the supreme court. what used to be a 5-4 vote in favor of keeping abortion legal will probably start to slide right here. with a projected 30 states to ban abortion, things don't look good if roe v. wade is reversed, and the decision goes back to state hands. we need to do a research, ( Read more... )

you know--i'm not exactly sure how these people are chosen as likely candidates. i'm assuming it has to do with their experience, political affiliation, etc.

i just am going to pray to god for a miracle. in my email, i got a really interesting newsletter from i think NOW or maybe Feminist Majority to write letters to Senator Byrd (west virginia democrat) to bring his mandolin for a good 'ole filabuster hoedown. i just hope to god that the democrats will filabuster any of the nut cases bush tries to do.

all i have to say is that o'connor leaving is just proof that it's the end of the world as we know it. and what's not comforting is that reinquest will be living soon too.
