Happy Christmas!
I just worked Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, and I had a freakin' blast! I got to take care of some really sick people, help save their lives, and do it all with a really fantastic team of people.
I participated in 4 resuscitations and all of them were run incredibly well. (Everybody was alive when they left the ER.) It was like we were all thinking as one mind. Whenever someone needed something, they'd look up to see that someone was already doing it. Fantastic! Working together as a team is amazing when you're playing a sport but truly phenomenal when you're saving someone's life.
It's a truly amazing feeling to know that the medics are bringing in someone who is dead or nearly dead and that you are ready to do whatever that Pt needs. Its really surprising when you find yourself confident and calm knowing that the shit is about to hit the fan.
