focus question: should new year's day be a "holiday"? i mean, do you really think it's legitimate? enough for the bank to be closed? enough for the cops to not work? tissskky tisk.
and how do i know that the cops aren't working? well...
it was new year's eve. the day had been filled with apartment-search errands and other random randoms. rob and i had just finished shopping the goodwill/salvation army scene, and were now, back on the road. as we, traveling in rob's truck, proceed to brake for the car in front of us... WE GET TOASTED. whiplash style. rear-ended, like whoa, by a truck. so anyways, we pull into the rite-aid. we expect the truck (who could have seriously injured us) to follow, BUT... he flies into the other lane and speeds off. like a chump. but we have his license plate numbers. so he's done.
alright. kind of speeding along the story... rob and i go back to my apartment (i was meeting kyle, who would not be able to get in by himself). we call the police (recording on the phone - the offices are closed 'til tuesday), reach dispatch, and await the cops arrival. FORTY MINUTES LATER IN THE COLD EVENING AIR, we make another call. THIRTY MINUTES LATER, cop comes. in the meantime, kyle goes to salvation army (tim horton's is next door, and there are THREE COP CARS there. THREE. no cop cars to the rescue of rob and i, mind you.) i was supposed to get a suit at salvation army... but NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. thanks guy that hit us. thanks cop-friend.
then, eventually, kyle and i end up at fbc. that was fine. dave matthews played. poker went down (for like twenty minutes). people danced (i like watching people dance.). my knee doesn't let me dance. or at least, not without some worry. that was that.
then brandon gave me a ride home, first stopping at darci's. saw a picture of rachael bussinger; it was cute. i like rachael. she's a good kid. then i played with some dogs. i miss having one of my one.
and... i spent all of today listening to football and building a poker table.
i'm a carpenter.
