Still hanging around!

So yeah, I've not been posting much. Things are better than I know how to say, really.

Carmela's commented on how this blog and my other journaling projects have all been, well, (these are my words, not hers) sort of a repository for all things crappy. So when things are going this well, I'm not sure what to say, I suppose.

Today I had to drive 79 miles (that's ONE-WAY!) to Grand Terrace for training for my new job. It's not a new job, though, I'm doing the same job as before just for the company that runs the school, instead of being employed by the residential facility and being seconded to the school side.

Confusing, I know, but the point is that today I had to sit through a training on what I'll be dealing with and how to do it even though I've been doing this job for a whole freaking year! In fact, I was giving pointers the whole time. If I hadn't already been trained in crisis interventions and restraints, I'd have to go back on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. I would then light myself on fire.

(Side note: on the way there, I passed a Chick-fil-a, and wanted to stop by on the way back, but couldn't find it again. Alas!)

Carmela and I picked the Oscars and she beat me by one. I really didn't think that the 36 Mafia would win, but them's the breaks. It did lead to Stewart's funniest joke of the night: "For those of you keeping count at home, that's 36 Mafia 1, Martin Scorsese 0." Now that's comedy.
