Farewell

After a weeklong mass debate over the fate of this LiveJournal account, I've decided not to delete it. I will however retire it. It will stay up as a record of many years of memories both fond and fucked, and I will start afresh with a new Friends Only journal, with a much smaller Friends List. (Note the judicious use of capital letters.) Part of what's being recorded is the huge population of LJ Friends I've accumulated over the years. There was drama, joy, fornication and a whole lot of random conversation with many Fine Upstanding Citizens and Kindred Users of Pills (or FUCKUPs for short). Many of these FUCKUPs I can't put a face to, have never known their real names, and if I meet them socially, they have to re-introduce themselves. These interactions are, I feel, best left in the real world, where your day to day lives are compressed into pill form and gleaned on a need-to-know basis. I haven't been reading many (if any) of the entries on my Friends List, as I have other things I'd rather spend my time on, and those whose entries I would like to read often get ignored as a result (of my laziness).

I'll be picking up some of the pieces, and taking them to a new journal. Those who do want to continue to be a part of my electronic macrocosm, drop me a comment and I'll comment in turn with the new account.

My final word to everyone else is always remember, no matter how perfect you think you are, you still need to wipe your arse, just like everyone else. (Bidets and personal wiping technique aside.)
