The three rows of crenelations on its head do control it. You can make it turn left and right, and surge forward a bit. It's as difficult to control as Agro in a thicket. (NB. I mean the horse, not the puppet.) Direct it towards any of the three platforms and jump off when it's close. (Difficult to judge at first.) Hide behind the little pedestal in the middle, and eventually the colossus will jump up and put its front legs on the edge of the platform to get a better look at you (and shoot lightning from its tusks at you). It has a small grassy/furry patch on it's belly which is now out of the water and exposed. Leap at it and grab on. The sigil lights up when you reach it. Stabby stabby. When it panics and lets go, you go under water and end up letting go. Take about three or four rounds of chasing, mounting, controlling, jumping to the platforms and baiting it up onto its haunches. Also it can thrash about and destroy the platforms while you're clinging to its belly. I'm not sure if it's possible for all of them to be

I don't command people though. But if it was it'd be "You! Thicken!" or some such nonsense. Reminds me of the picking partners for the royal orgy sketch "no, no, no, no, no, no, yes...etc"
I'm quite enamoured with it, but I have a penchant for games with vague storylines and immersive cinematic gameplay. I'm also a victim whenever the soundtrack is dramatic and visuals are pretty. The countryside is pure escapism, and the battles are as fun to watch as they are to play (in a good way). It's an innovative concept, and a dreamlike fantastical style that hasn't been cliched into the ground like the next Age of Empires ripoff to be churned out into the market. It may not be for everyone, but I like it so much, both in concept and in the experience itself, that I actually intend to purchase a legal copy of it, and that's a the highest praise a game can earn from me. :-D

hmm whats the character development like? do you get skills and xp with control like dues ex and final fantasy series how you get to allocate stuff?, or is it more gta style where what u use goes up?
Neither. Your character is constant. You're own skill at playing the game is all that increases. You fight sixteen consecutive colossi (with apparent approaching plot twists which I've yet to encounter close up). The time scale, like the scale of the landscape, is realistic. Someone does not suddenly grow biceps like a wrestler after doing a lap around an island on a horse
