That was the one line I remember clearly from the movie "Trainspotting".
I know I've mentioned it before, but as much as I hated how wrecked up the lives of the people in the movie were I admit it did leave a very indelible memory in my mind. And that's what all good movies should do to a viewer.
For those who were too young to watch the movie or never got to hear about it, the movie is about the lives of wayward teenagers in UK who spent their lives being involved in drugs. It was unforgettable because the film captured every facet of the days a young addict goes through, including the good and bad trips as well as the negative impacts drug abuse creates.
It was sobering and made me very thankful that I live in a country that makes it very, very hard for youngsters to find sources to get the said intoxicants.
But the thing to remember is, there will always be light at the end of dark tunnels. So whatever hell you think you are going through, keep your head up, stay sober, stay sane, and victory will be yours.
My heart goes out to anyone who is going through cold-turkey of any kind right now too.
