Thoughts:

1. A difference of 24 minutes of TV a day doesn't really sound that significant. That's one Friends rerun.

2. 12 books a year is a frequent reader?

Our entire LJ group is totally off the charts in terms of reading, I think.

Something like half the adult population didn't read any books in the last year. Those reports always astound me. I just can't fathom not reading.

I'm with Daisie. I read a lot and watch a lot of TV (although, now that we have tivo, it's less time spent watching tv though the same number of shows).

3.5 hours a week is a movie and an episode of The Simpsons, doesn't sound like much to me.

I'd watch a lot more TV if I had time. I'm down to about 2 - 4 hours a week now (CSI & Heroes mostly!) - and I'm also really slowed up with the literature; it's taken me nearly 2 months to get through the last book.

I have read 150 books for work since May though, so that ought to count for something :P

I am here to balance you out. I don't own a tv, but I also don't read very much any more, and I never read much by way of literary works.

You mean like popcorn? Are they tasty?

I read a +300 page book yesterday. Certain types of book are so hard for me to put down that I'll stay up until the wee hours to finish. I don't own a TV, but I do spend hours every day at my favorite forums.

I agree that 1/2 hour difference is weak, when you look at it on a day-by-day basis. Multiply by 365 and see how that looks.
