OI, just a quick post before I go to sleep ;-)

SPOILERZZZZZZZ!!

Title: Fatherhood
Characters: Remus, Tonks (and Teddy... but he's not quite visible...)
Rating: G

Ah, Remus. If something really disapointed me in DH, it's our favourite DADA teacher. I am a Remus/Sirius shipper at heart - I think they're perfect together - but I liked the idea that he might get some love from someone else, now Sirius is gone. I was truly surprised to read that they got married in the first chapter, I thought it was pretty rushed, but anyway... I was happy for him and Tonks. Truly happy.

But, siriusly, his attitude made me quite sick! He showed no affection nor tenderness towards Tonks, and he wanted to leave her while she was pregnant! Professor Lupin, where have you gone?!?

I know I should be grateful that JKR didn't sink the R/S ship - as a matter of fact, I am, because it doesn't make R/S completely AU (and I really really like fics that stick so closely as possible to canon). But still... I would have preferred him to be happy with Tonks... And not to behave like a coward. He's one of my favourite characters, damnit!

*calms down*

BUT one positive aspect: Teddy. And the joy that Remus showed at the birth of his son. I don't remember seeing him that happy once in the whole series. Tha's why I wanted to draw that scene so much. But the point is, he is happy because of his son, not because of Tonks.

I know that Remus is supposed to behave as if he deserved nothing, and therefore would not allow himself to be as happy as others have the right to be. He doesn't want to make Tonks an outcast, and that's perfectly understandable considering his personality. But why on earth did he say YES and why did he get her pregnant if he didn't want her to get into trouble? Was he not strong enough to say no? Did he love her at all?

In a PuppyLove optic, he couldn't love her because he was still in love with Sirius. He would see her just as Sirius did: a little cousin, a sister, a child. Not a gown-up woman. He had been resisting her for a year and he finally gave in because he just needed to be loved - all this kind of affection he had been bereft of since James and Lily's deaths, and then Sirius's death. And he would feel incredibly guilty to date a girl who's head over heels in love with him but who he just loves as a little sister. And he would be too weak to leave her without a good pretext. He would just feel out of his depth and would hate to be confronted with his own cowardness.

Maybe he finally grew to love her - who knows? The thing is, we don't see him with Tonks anymore after the wedding. He says that Harry's instincts were right, and, when Ron comes back, he tells Harry and Hermione that he's living with Tonks again - which is after Christmas! So they've spent nearly four months apart? It is impossible to say how come that he finally accepted Tonks to enter his life - but it is surely connected to his son. If the boy managed to make Remus come to his senses and bring them together again which made Remus more happy than he has been in his whole life, I would be really grateful.

And, let's face it: Remus having a son... It's bloody awesome!! ^__^

OI, still awake? No? ... Huhu ^^ sorry! But that's all, I swear!

Next: I still have two DH illustration (almost done)... DH-related art (still very rough)... and a drawing of the Black sisters (almost done).

But I'm currently trying to complete my James/Lily fic, so I might be quite silent for the next few days...

tonks, remus, teddy, remus/tonks, deathly hallows
