Valentine's Day. Not exactly my favorite holiday, considering the cracks I would get back in Raccoon for being Officer Valentine. [Despite the supposed distaste for those jokes, there's a soft laugh. Over the years annoyance at those jokes had turned into amusement over a now fond memory of an easier time.]
Still...there's little reason for me to celebrate. Nothing like having a single's awareness day this far from home...And it makes me all too aware that he's still gone. [The tail end of that sentence is practically a whisper. It's obvious that wasn't meant to be heard by anyone. The following silence stretches on for a moment before she speaks again.]
