So I was in Paris, I've seen Muse twice and read the final chapter of FullMetal Alchemist between said two gigs.
I still don't know how I managed to survive this.
Neither where to begin, if fact xD Maybe chronological order.
bakharu who came to the 12th-gig had already been to the Stade de France and had warned me, but you cannot realize the huge thing it is until you're in front of it. You're climbing the stairs to go out of the subway and then: OMFG Am I really going there ?
I had to pick up the tickets I originally bought for a friend who finally couldn't come to the 11th-gig: I bought them on special offer, on the official website but they hadn't mentioned where were the seats. In fact, it was in lodges. You know, the kind of seat you don't even dream about. And I had to sell them xD
I went back to the Gare du Nord to catch
hayaaateuh and we missed the mini-concert before Muse - well, we heard
Editors while coming to the stade, but... When we went through the doors, well, our breaths were taken. The crowd, the scene, the view we had from our seats.
They played some music while we waited, everyone went wild when we heard Green Day's Holiday, and all the audience succeeded in doing Mexican wave: it was really fun and impressive !
Then they stopped the music, and shortly after, "protestants", chosen fans a few days ago, came in front of the stage with banners with lyrics on it.
And when they started to come back,
ROCKS FELL AND EVERYONE DIED with Uprising. (Not my video, I had a seated place!)
How to describe Muse awesomeness ? It was a pleasure for both eyes and ears. Every song, except for Neutron Star Collision (where the stade suddenly became silent, I wonder why) was divine and I loved all the instrumental parts they played, like Absolution's Interlude or Man of Mystery (I squee-ed for both).
We wre all crazy, but the audience was... Well, it was a little bit scary to see everyone rising fists at the same time, chanting the same Eurasia..sia...sia...sia : I beleive that if the band had asked us to join them in revolution, we would have followed.
The light were wonderful, the ribbons and confetti during Guiding Light were unexpected but beautiful, and I almost caught one, and the videos on the screens, well, it was Muse ! But I'll let
hayaaateuh talk about us seeing some FMA-symbolism in it xD
( And as it was Royai Day (I haven't contribute too many things to do, my apologizes ;____;) we cried a huge ROYAAAAAAAAAIIIIIIIII when Resistance started. This song was one of the best )
It was really a sci-fi concert.
A silver and sparkling suit for Matt. There was a... - I don't have words -
A something on which they played and it could move forward and rise and light. (Still not a video of mine cause, really, how can you film a Muse gig ? I didn't want to miss something). Illuminated balloons. "Hullaballoons" coming during Stockholm Syndrome. And...
Yes, this is a flying saucer.
With a dancer, hung on a trapeze below, who appeared in the middle of Exogenesis part I.
And when you believe it's over, no, they cannot do something more epic, pharaonic, gigantic, well,
Matt comes back with a suit covered with diodes. (As it rained, I thought for a second what if he's electrocuted ? xD)
They ended the show with Knights of Cydonia.
Astonishing.
We went back to the subway half-running, half-dreaming, unable to hear or talk properly. It was raining cats and dogs on our way to the flat but we didn't care.
And after having wrung trousers and t-shirts, we went to bed with my laptop... and read the 108th FMA chapter.
To be continued in my next entry ;D
(God, it took my two hours to write this !)
I you want a second opinion, I recommend you
hayaaateuh 's future entry, if she manage to find a little time to write one (courage, ma belle, tu vaincras les examens et j'espère que la télépathie aura fonctionné /o/)
