Grrrr.

There are few automotive industry things more frustrating than the Geneva Auto Show. That's the show where we get to see all of the cars that are being built for Europe, and won't be exported here. It's like waking up on Christmas morning and being told that your family converted to Judaism overnight.

First off, the Audi A1, a small car available with higher-end equipment, as well as a diesel option.

Not that I should be surprised. I can't even get an A3 with quattro and diesel.

From Ford, here's a fine Focus wagon you won't be able to buy here, even though Ford has redesigned their products to use the same components worldwide. As jalopnik puts it "So America likes a big, bulky hatchback, but they hate the elongated and sleek wagon. Whatever. We're apparently an idiotic country when it comes to car-buying preferences and proud of it. Fine."

Ford is also making this version for the Dutch that I would probably choose over the Subaru Impreza Outback that I'm considering.

Even BMW is making versions of the 5-series Touring (wagon) based on the 7-series platform not to be exported here.

What small cars are we getting here? For starters, the bizarre Nissan Juke, designed by someone who never heard of the Pontiac Aztec

Also, Mini further dilutes their brand with the Countryman

Though I'd consider it if they keep the AWD option and it's cheap enough when it gets here.

Overall, this kid has the same reaction as I've had to the show:

Not really related to the above comments, but this is the ad for Pagani Zonda R. Every other makers of $1M+ sports cars, take note. This is how you sell a supercar. Show, don't tell.
