Remember when the State Department was lambasting the government of Iran for clamping down on Twitter access? Apparently, the DoD thinks it's a pretty good idea.
The Pentagon is planning to block access to Twitter (and Facebook and other social networking sites). It's all for security, you see, (which was the Iranian government's reason) not because soldiers are providing unapproved accounts of the wars.
