It is only polite, Lelouch reasons, to bring a housewarming gift when welcoming someone new to the neighborhood. "Someone" being Sasori, today, one of the only people to reply to one of Lelouch's nightmares as if he truly cared, in an abstracted way, about the welfare of a stranger. It's enough to make Lelouch curious (and grateful, in a way), curious enough to want to know more. Hence the housewarming.
He had been somewhat intrigued when Sasori had moved into this part of Yomisato, so close to Lelouch's own house. Lelouch moved often enough that he never really accrued "neighbors," not since he'd left the home house in Kusa. In Lelouch's experience, "neighbors" and their cousins, "acquaintances," turned into collateral damage far too quickly.
Sasori, though. Sasori is interesting. So Lelouch waits outside his door, carrying an ornately carved vase he'd purchased with money gained in perhaps-not-entirely-legal venues, and knocks once.
