FFXII
Well, I decided to give a bit of an update tonight. :)
Things have been busy at work. We have 5 people starting in Atlanta, and no computers to send them. None, nada, zilch. *sigh* Of course, that's because they didn't give us enough notice to purchase them. *sigh*
In my free time at home, I've been playing Final Fantasy XII. The game is definitely keeping me busy. I'm 60 hours in, yet I've come nowhere near seeing everything yet. I'm currently only level 40 on all my characters, but surprisingly, I almost have my license board completed on them all. There are still quite a few spots left on the board, but with the levelling that I'm gonna need to do, it's not gonna matter.
The game is excellent. I really can't believe how addicting it is. I can spend hours just running back and forth killing creatures for their loot. This part is actually similar to FFXI. However, it is much more fulfilling, because items come more frequently, and you can hold a hell of a lot more. Plus, you don't have to auction them off. It's instant gratification when you get to a shop! The new battle system actually fits the game very well. I often find myself switching to Wait mode during boss battles so that I can better formulate strategy. The game is so fast paced, I often miss things that I wish I had the time to do, like steal from bosses. I just don't have time to do something like that because I have to keep my guys alive, cast buffing spells on them and debuff the boss. Very hectic, and quite often it gets the adrenaline flowing. :)
The story is great too. Voice acting is some of the best I've heard in a while. And the music has me humming every time I enter a new area. The music definitely reminds me of the music from Final Fantasy Tactics and Tactics Advaced. This is understandable because it takes place in the same world, just at different eras. It also explains the way that equipment in handled in the menu.
Well, there's not much else to talk about right now. I haven't beaten the game yet. It is definitely massive. Can't wait to play more of it! ^_^
