Today I went to my doctor's house, which sounds weird but my dad is good friends with my family doctor so when my dad got back from South Korea (he was there with the Air Force Reserve for his yearly two weeks of service) our doctor invited us over. It was interesting seeing what all my health care had paid for (two boats and a huge house with a home theater), and a little unnerving but fun.
I've started reading Lemony Snicket's "A Series of Unfortunate Events" again, picking up where I left off with number 8, "The Hostile Hospital", I forgot how much I love his style of writing.
I dinged
my paladin level 50 yesterday in World of Warcraft and got the epic sword "
Sul'Thraze the Lasher" which was awesome and a half. Then I trained my enchanting to about 250 so I should be able to use the Fiery Weapon enchantment soon which would be awesome, even if I'll have no way to pay for my epic mount until I reach
Outland where money drops like candy. After that I created a
Bloof Elf priest which I'm not sure about, the
Forsaken have the highest
Horde base spirit which is a boon to priests for mana regeneration but Blood Elves have the highest intelligence which provides more mana.*
I have had a fierce need to create something, I expressed this to Karen (my piano teacher) who is excited to teach an experienced older student (I just started this summer but have previous musical experience with the alto saxophone in grades 6-10) and has had me on the accelerated program and teaching me a lot of musical theory which she usually does not teach her students. However, she has been telling me to relax an learn the basics before I go off writing my own songs. On the musical note (pun not intended) I've also commandeered my sister's acoustic guitar and teaching book in an attempt to learn the guitar as well but it's slow going, I have tried to practice rhythm guitar but I still can't move as quickly as I'd like between chords (the three I know anyway) and when I try to practice lead guitar my funky bent ring finger almost can't reach the third fret and I have barely been able to learn all the lead notes.
To satiate my desire to create I have begun to write the book I've been talking about and formulating in my head. Actually, I had one idea that had been gradually taking shape in my head but I hadn't started writing but one night while lying in bed waiting to fall asleep I had an amazing idea for a novel and knew I'd forget it if I didn't write it down so I turned on my computer and typed up the basic plot before going to bed. Ever since I've been adding more little by little. I only have one problem, the plot is a bit long, if I go wild I could fill two or three books, I'm trying to think of ways to move the story along faster so it can be a more manageable length like that of "The Great Gatsby" or "To Kill a Mockingbird" rather than the monolithic "Atlas Shrugged" while still retaining meaning.
*Yes this is post-worthy content. Yes I am a nerd. Yes I want you to click those links and follow along. No, you don't have anything better to do, I spent time I could be playing on WoW on writing this you'd damn well better read it.
