Sho as Kageyama featured in Meitantei Conan

Jan 19, 2015 03:58

For the second time Aoyama Gosho, the author of manga Meitantei Conan, has used an Arashi member as reference material for his Detective Encyclopedia. For those who don't follow the manga: at the end of each takoubon the author introduces a famous detective along with a doodle, tells his readers why he likes him/her and says which story is his favourite.

After portraying Leader as Enomoto Kei a while back ( you can go here for my entry about it), in book #82 he introduces Nazotoki ha Dinner no atode and Sho as the hottest butler ever Kageyama.
And yes, techincally he doesn't introduce Sho but like last time I don't care that much since he was clearly depicted, so who cares?

I'll try to re-scan it at 600dpi in the next couple of days)

Of course he also wrote a little something about Kageyama and the novel series.
Please note that this is the translation of a translation, that I am very far from being a professional translator or being fluent in English, so there might be mistakes or phrases sounding plain weird :p
Btw, the last time several people mentioned that in their country the Detective Encyclopedia (or Detective Picture Book) isn't shared. If you are interested you can get at least a little info here. There's also a german wiki that generally shares the scans of the detectives's doodles and often additional information as well; find it here (you should be able to naviagte this even if you don't speak German and simply want to have a look at the pics).

This elegant lady is a police detective and solves the most difficult cases with unchallenged elegance. But nobody knows that the man behind her is the real master detective.

His name is Kageyama! He is the butler and driver of Hosho Reiko, the heiress of the huge Hosho-group. He always did his duties in a diligent and conscientious manner but when Reiko started her work in the police service, he discovered a whole new side of himself. One day when Reiko came home from a crime scene and obviously hit a dead end in her investigation, he suddenly said to her:" Are you blind?" At first she wanted to fire him right then and there for this cheeky atitude, but since the next moment he solved the case to the most minute detail, she reconsidered. The author Higashigawa Tokuya had more than 70 title suggestions for his crime series by the way before he decided on "The After-Dinner-Mysteries". I always come up with 3 titles at the most, the rest I leave to my butler (if only I had one)!

My reading suggestion: The more beautiful the rose, the more deadly the thorns. [1]

[1] This story was adopted for the 6th episode of the TV dorama - the corpse is found amidst the roses and the culprit wants to use an old story about a curse and a ghost to remain free of suspicion.

Please don't repost the scan or the text. Thank you very much!
