I really love this kind of story...the resourceful humans setting up a slice of civilization out in the wilderness. Plus it is so nice to have Daniel opening up in a surprisingly relaxed setting. Everything they are doing is important and in some ways urgent but since some things just can't be rushed, there is this steady calmness to their adventure that compliments how well they work together.

One of the many delightful things about fanfic: if this was an episode, it would be incredibly slow-paced and quite boring to watch... but in a story, we can take our time :)

If it were an episode, TPTB would cut it all down to a montage and miss all the wonderful banter and exposition. :P

Too true. It'd be "oh no, we've crashed!" *montage* "hey, guys, what took you so long on the rescue?"

I love Daniel's survival smarts! And the playfulness in their tone, without the unnecessary over-snark, because they're past that now... mostly. :P
