So I got sick last night, I caught the cold my mom's been battling for the last few days. Luckily my version is't as bad as hers but still sucks.It also proves spending so much time with my mom is bad for my health (j/k) I did want to do something tonight but still feel gross and am probably still contageous so low key New Year's eve at home this year. Anyway here's the 2009 in review thing,I can't cut it because this is done through the phone so year here it be:

1. What did you do in 2009 that you'd never done before? Studied abroad!
2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
Sorta I don't really remember what mine was last year so yeah, but I did make some for this year.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth? Nope
4. Did anyone close to you die? No
5. What countries did you visit? ECUADOR!
6. What would you like to have in 2010 that you lacked in 2009? Some college-graduating (YES!), a non-workstudy job.
7. What date from 2009 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?February-May 2009 (AKA the months in Ecuador).
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?Being way more confident in and learning a lot more Spanish.
9. What was your biggest failure? Not really sure maybe losing a bit of motivation?
10. Did you suffer illness or injury? Illness yes I currently feel crappy but got the sickest I've been in years the 2nd to the last weekend in Ecuador. And had a lovely cough for about 2 weeks after. It sucked.
11. What was the best thing you bought?I bought some purfume for my mom directly from Chanel. She really liked it and it was kinda fun to buy something from Chanel.
12. Whose behavior merited celebration? I have no idea but I'm sure someones did so good for them.
13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed? Uh, my own, a couple times (I agree w/ korla here).
14. Where did most of your money go? Transportation and other stuff in Ecuador.
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about? Going abroad.
16. What song will always remind you of 2009? Lol. Poker Face by Lady GaGa and a mix of mostly reggeaton from Ecuador.
17. Compared to this time last year, are you...
i. happier or sadder? Bout the same.
ii. thinner or fatter?maybe a bit thinner but I really need to exercise more.
iii. richer or poorer? Poorer, this time last year I had like $1500.00 saved up for ecuador now I've got maybe $200.00.
18. What do you wish you'd done more of? Workingout also going out more.
19. What do you wish you'd done less of?procrastinating
20. How will you be spending Christmas? I opened presents with my mom then made a ton of cookies to give as additional presents for my family at the family christmas we had the day after.
22. Did you fall in love in 2009? In love no, In like yes.
24. What was your favorite TV program? Same as always LAW & ORDER: SVU.
25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year? I don't hate. But no.
26. What was the best book you read? Kindred and Parable of the Sower by Octavia Butler, The Boat by Nam Le and Dark Matter ( a collection of short afrofuturist stories).
27. What was your greatest musical discovery? Well I've accepted lady gaga into my life and I kinda love her ridiculously catchy/dancy pop songs. Also some Ecuadorian folk music, Salsa and more reggeaton.
28. What did you want and get? To go to Ecuador and improve my spanish, got both!
29. What did you want and not get? A new laptop since my hard drive decided to die but I'm using the desktop and schools almost over so not need. Also may be able to save said laptop but I need to go to geeksquad and see if its worth it.
30. What was your favorite film of this year?Star Trek? I dunno I didn't see many movies this year.
31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you? 22, went to lunch with willie which was fun. Then later that week saw precious with my mom and ate some cake. Low key but good, I got b-day partied out after middle school... Too much work.
32. What's one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying? Better people skills/a lower awkward quotient(I'll agree with this).
33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2009? Layers in ecuador and I dunno fairly boring haven't really been clothes shopping / bought much clothes so same ol same 'ol.

35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most? What do you mean by fancy? And I have no idea.
36. What political issue stirred you the most? Maybe health care.
37. Who did you miss? People from high school that I haven't seen in far too long. And my host family and people from my program.
38. Who was the best new person you met? All the lovely people in my program.
39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2009: don't let fear keep you from doing new things.

Had to say goodbye to? My host family, I cried like a baby when I left.

Best place you went to? Ecuador.
Worst place you went to? Not a place but any ridiculously crowded bus in Ecuador.
How was your birthday? Low-key, but good
Best present? A bike! I haven't had a new one since 5th grade. I can't wait until its warm and can ride it. (I know I could now but... It's cold and I don't wanna).
