Life in recovery

I am so tired I barely know where to start. You know how I said that my mother once tried to mop the kitchen floor the same day that she came back from a minor knee surgery? I was not making that up. (Am I ever?) I thought I'd be here taking care of a baby--someone who had to sleep most of the day in a recliner and couldn't get anything for herself ( Read more... )

What is it with parents and Australia? It is a favorite of both my parents and my in-laws.

It's one of my mother's favorite movies too. But then, she is Australian, so that may explain it...

I was the youngest person in my showing of Australia and I'm 32. The place was packed. And I swear, when Hugh enters the screen in that white tux, there were actual sighs from the middle-aged women in the crowd. It was like Twilight for grown-ups.

That is my mother EXACTLY. Except that she also watches Twilight way too often. At least no one watches anyone sleep in this one. I think--I didn't see the first half, after all.

I finally saw Eclipse with my mom this weekend. She spent an inordinate amount of time giggling in glee over Jasper. I thought of your Last Airbender story. Heh.

She was also annoyed at how long it took Edward to start sparkling in the first meadow scene. Good times.

I was so busy being disappointed by it not living up to Moulin Rouge that the only thing I really did notice was Hugh Jackman, being arguably hotter than I've ever seen him before.

Australia is a Harlequin Romance Novel where every scene is a replica of a famous cover. This is why it is beloved by a certain age group.

I mean, that scene where Hugh Jackman is pouring water over his shirtless and ever so defined chest and back? Pretty damn gratuitous (but, you know, in a good way...)

Cosigned. ::fans self and wonders why she hasn't got any Hugh Jackman icons. Han Solo will have to suffice.)
