On the fifth day of Sparklemas...

Jun 28, 2010 10:06

... my blogger gave to me: IIIIIIIII'M NOT A FAAAAAAAN.

MSNBC: Why doesn’t ‘Twilight’ have a Team Bella?

And there I am, front and center--described as "Cleolinda Jones, a 31-year-old 'Twilight' fan from Birmingham, Ala," in a turn of phrase that elicited great chagrin on Twitter.

What does it mean to be a fan? )

twilight, interviews, twitter, sparkle motion, edward cat, m15m, sparklemas, we do not speak of it

AH GOD THAT'S A HORRIBLE WAY TO THINK OF IT

He's accompanied by his own Sarah McLachlan song, isn't he?

This is why I'm not allowed to go to pet stores. Or walk past them. Or think about them.

Heh. Only in his case it's probably a Muse song.

(And here I am making fun of a sad little homeless cat. Twilight, see what you've done to me? SEE??)

Well, I was thinking of those awful commercials--what are they for, the Humane Society? Something--about homeless, abused animals ("Why did they hurt me?" "Am I going to die tomorrow?") that always have Sarah McLachlan songs in the background. Oh my God, they put me in the fetal position, they're terrible.

Oh yes, I know. Boy, do I know. I always have to turn the sound down or change the channel. I was just thinking of Meyer's devotion to Muse. You just know she'd want Edward Cullen Cat to have a Muse song of his very own.

The song they play is "Angel" (at least where I live) and they accompany it with a slideshow of abused animals staring out of cages. It's HORRIBLE, and it lasts for ages.

Anytime that commercial comes on in my house there is a flurry of activity while we try and change the channel as fast a humanly possible!

I understand they want to tug our heart strings and all but seriously no one (with a soul) can watch the damn thing!

Damn you! I had nearly managed to forget about those commercials (I've been living overseas for a year and a half) and now I just want to curl up and cry again. Those things really are gutting.

Those always make me want to run out and adopt 10 animals despite the fact that I'm allergic, and I have no time to take care of said animals right now.

Those commercials make me hug my animals and apologize for spritzing them with water when they claw at the screen door. I also hate those internet banner ads that show the bear with a ring in its nose. Please let me enjoy my lolcats in peace!

Those and those David Duchovny commercials with the shelter dogs ("I'm a good dog"). Man, those can really do an emotional number on you.

Sarah McLachlan and Matt Bellamy are, as we speak, working on a heart-wrenching, acoustically-minded, prog-glam-electronica masterpiece specifically for Edward Cullen Cat and his sad, sad, WHY DO YOU NOT LOVE ME face.

It's going to be called Supermassive Black Angel.

Drive-by icon love.

We named our dog "Jester" because of Danny Kaye. If he was a purebred show dog his full title would be:
Giacomo, King of Jesters and Jester to the King

He was a pound dog.
