Yeah, this is what I got out of it, too. Christian said that some people died before Jack and some after, but they all created the Sideways world so they could meet up... and it's not really happening at any specific time because there's no concept of time in purgatory (or whatever you want to call the Sideways).

Exactly. What happened on the island happened, and as Christian said, it was the most important time of all of their lives, which is why they constructed the other reality - so they could find each other again.
No, I think I kind of lean toward what you said. Everything on the island happened, Sideways World was a precursor to heaven where everyone can live a good life, and is outside of time, so it all happens at the same pace once you're IN Sideways World, but in different points for everyone on the slow path.
And I think Ben waiting outside indicates that he's Jacob 4.0. Maybe he relieved Hurley or something at some point. I can see that.

I'm not sure that he's 4.0. I think he didn't move on because he couldn't. Not without Alex. They were all waiting for the people most important to them and the person most important to him was his daughter.
