BEHOLD THE MIGHTY PURCHASING POWER OF THE TEENAGE GIRL'S ALLOWANCE. Somewhere, Stephenie Meyer is laughing an evil laugh, and maybe stroking a large, fluffy white cat.

ALSO: Portrait of the Artist as a Young Opium-Eater by grrliz, an historical look at RPattz during the pre-Twilight years.

Only it's not just teen girls, not by a longshot. I'd like to see the demo breakdown of the audience because I'm guessing at least half of the attendees were middle-aged women. BEHOLD THE MIGHTY PURCHASING POWER OF A MATURE WOMAN WITH A CREDIT CARD.

Well, yeah, at least half were totally TwiMoms. But the ones seeing it 5 or 6 times within a 48 hour period? I really hope those were just the squealing teens. DON'T FURTHER SHATTER MY ALREADY EXTREMELY FRAGILE AND MINUSCULE FAITH IN HUMANITY OKAY.

I just read Portrait of the Artist as a Young Opium-Eater and XD. RPattz is a huge part of why I've been so riveted by Twilight. I've never seen anyone that famous who's that hilariously goofy.

It's not just Twi-Moms. I...I seem to be living with the elusive Twi-Male. One of my housemates came in this evening when I was having dinner and told me he'd spend the evening in a theater full of screaming 12-year-old girls, seeing New Moon.

"I'm so sorry!" I said, assuming his girlfriend had dragged him.

"Oh, no," he said. "I really like the books, and the movies are okay. It was just that all the screaming got to be a bit much."

He has the room next to mine, and now I am afraid of him. Please send help.

And here I was just thinking whether any males were actually capable of liking this stuff.

There's at least one. And he gave the illusion of having all his marbles before last night's revelation.

About a third of the audience was made up of the male of the species when I went on Saturday. And that included a fair few groups of males with no female company at all.
