Another meme! Because I know you love them so much. In fact, I can't even tell if I'm being sarcastic there or not.
01. What are your nicknames?
Well, apparently I am officially "Cleolinda 'Cleo' Jones" now. I never had a nickname in real life, except that my family did call me "the polar bear" as a teenager because I always had the AC cranked down to 60. I have since come to realize that this is, obviously,
my Spirit Animal. 02. How do you style your hair?
I wash it, comb it, and let it air dry for a couple of hours, then run the dryer through it just to give it a little volume. It's curly, so you can't do too much to it.
03. What's new in your life right now?
Wow... I feel like I should have something to say here, but... really, nothing right now. I've had a lot of new stuff going on this year, actually, but right now it's pretty quiet. This is not necessarily a bad thing, either. I suspect new things might start to turn up after the beginning of the year, but who knows.
04. How many colours are you wearing now?
Black (shirt) and blue (denim).
05. Are you an introvert or extrovert?
I'd say I'm a complete introvert, but on personality tests I often come up as an extrovert, somehow. I've probably got 15% extrovert that actually needs to recharge occasionally, I guess.
06. What was the last book you read?
Thank God I just reread Delta of Venus, or I'd have to say Midnight Sun instead (yes, back from August or whenever. I've done a terrible job of keeping up with my reading this year).
(Could you possibly read two books that were less like each other?)
(Well... yes, probably.)
(But it would be hard.)
(That's what she said.)
07. Do you nap a lot?
There's a reason my favorite fairy tale character is Sleeping Beauty.
08. If the person you secretly like is already taken, what would you do?
This seems like kind of a pointless question to me, because I can't figure out what someone would do, other than "pine" or "move on." I mean, what--a spirited public performance of "
Girlfriend"? Guys already in relationships are just completely off-limits as far as I'm concerned--it goes beyond the moral for me into something of an actual turn-off. Life is so much easier if you just don't play with that kind of fire.
09. Is there anything that has made you unhappy these days?
Oh Lord, don't even get me started. It's just that time of year, you know? Two birthdays in the family and Christmas. It's stressful. And you've already heard me whine plenty.
10. What's your favorite dessert?
Hot fudge sundae,
as mentioned previously. Although (again) crème brûlée is also good. Also ice cream generally (see #19). Apparently I really like creamy desserts with contrasting textures.
11. How long does it take you to get ready in the morning?
Five minutes. And that's when I do leave the house. Add another five minutes if I put on eyeshadow. We're not including The Washing of Hair, because I tend to do that later in the day when it has time to air dry. I tend to shower at night when I have all the hot water to myself.
12. What websites do you visit daily?
My email accounts, Livejournal (obviously), JournalFen, Google Reader, Twitter. Of course, there are dozens of feeds I check via Google Reader.
13. What classes are you taking right now? And if you're not in school any more, what's your job?
Currently, I am ungainfully employed as a writer. Hey, look at it this way: at least that's one paying job I'm not taking away from someone else in this economy.
(No, this is not at all one of the reasons why I might be depressed about turning thirty, I have no idea why you would think that.)
14. Do you like to clean?
Dude, I have an entire "cleaning" tag devoted to how much I hate it. Oddly, I like specific tasks like hand-washing dishes or dusting, because it's relaxing. And also, you know when you're done. When it's like, "This place is a wreck, clean it up"? I lose my will to live.
15. What's the last song that got stuck in your head?
"Cradle of Love," Billy Idol. Click to view
(In retrospect, what a weird setup for a video. "My stereo's broken. Can I blare this tape and writhe around on your bed a while?" Best video for
a shitty movie no one even remembers now ever.)
(
DAVID FINCHER, FOR REAL? I mean, I knew he did
a ton of great videos, but... FOR REAL? That was the first video I ever saw on MTV. I was eleven, and not supposed to be watching, and... it was an experience. It's like finding out you actually met a good friend years earlier and didn't even know it. David Fincher. Huh.)
(I still love how the loser guy's all sobbing like, NOOOO NOT MY COLLECTIBLE PLATES!!! I SPENT A FORTUNE ON THOSE AT POTTERY BARRRRRN.)
16. What's the last movie you saw?
I'm not even going to answer this, because
you know. 17. What's better: eternal love or memorable love?
This is my cue, I think, to tell you how I think of love, which is that it's not a happy ending--it's not an ending, it's a beginning. It's you and a partner heading off into life together to take it on as a team. I don't know if you'd call that "eternal love"--shit, I'm not even sure what the distinction here between "eternal" and "memorable" is. I mean, I would think that eternal would be pretty damn memorable. But yeah, I am definitely in it for the long haul.
18. What is your least favorite thing to do that you have to do everyday?
Unload the dishwasher. I don't know why, because it's not like it's all that onerous a task, you know? But for some reason, I can't stand it--too much fiddling around with things going here and there and way over yonder, I don't know--and will put it off as long as possible to see if someone else will do it first.
19. What is your favorite ice cream flavor?
Bluebell's chocolate-almond-marshmallow. (More specifically, chocolate ice cream, marshmallow ice cream, and whole chocolate-covered almonds. And there I go again with the textures.) I think other brands sometimes call it "heavenly hash."
20. What are you most looking forward to in the coming month?
Probably getting The Dark Knight on DVD this weekend. Yes, I am aware that--given that we still have Christmas and New Year's Eve up ahead--this is kind of sad. Like I said: stressful.
I should add, The rules are:
A. People who have been tagged must write their answers on their blog and replace any question that they dislike with a new, original question.
B. Tag eight people. Don't refuse to do that. Don't tag who tagged you.
NUH-UH! I DO WHAT I WANT! Besides, no one tagged me in the first place. Go forth and meme if you want.
