Okay. Doing a little better. A little less rageful now. Today's journal flashback: I finally remembered some very short voice posts I did on a trip to New Orleans in 2004 (this was when I was still dividing my journaling energies between LJ and Blogspot; I was calling in on my cell phone. Unscripted, by the way), and I went back and listened to ( Read more... )

We are going to NO for our anniversary next week. I can' wait. Although it's not as hot down here right now, we had a "cool" snap. We are going to the Palace Cafe for dinner.

I've actually really wanted to go back to NO at a different time of year, when it would be cooler.

Well, "cooler" is a relative term around here. Anything below 75 is cool. But it is better when the air does not push you down. Best quote ever about Louisiana by Tom Robbins "Louisiana in September is like an obscene phone call from nature. The air even sounds like heavy breathing."
Hand grenades, ha ha. Those suckers will kill you every time.

Heeeeeeeeeee.

But yeah, I'm pretty much happy with anything in the '60s. I don't need it to actually be nippy or anything.

In Louisiana we skip "cool" and go straight from oppressive to nippy, at least in the mornings. By afternoon we're back up to barely tolerable.

Fall is the best time to visit, weather-wise. October is actually pretty nice, as long as you don't expect fall color.
