lol, I think I agree with you. But some of it seemed National Treasure-y. Here and there I was like "but... but... they've already DONE that..." Still enjoyed it.

I think that's one of the difficult things about seeing this movie now. So many other pop-corn action flicks took their cues from the IJ franchise. I kept watching, thinking, "Wow. That's a lot like The Mummy (II), or National Treasure," or what have you. Then it occurred to me that (despite the aliens) IJ4 really does stay faithful to the paradigms the franchise established in the first and third movies, it's just that in the 20 years since so many other movies have done it too that it no longer seems too fresh.
