Dragon Con schedule

Aug 25, 2015 09:50

ETA: I've added a Saturday night event.

ETA 2: Locations have been updated.

Now that things are getting more certain, here's what I think I'll be doing this year. This is adapted from the full Horror Track schedule, which you can find here. Short version: all the Hannibal events. The only location I know for sure is that my Friday evening panel is in the Peachtree Room in the Westin, same as last year; celebrity events tend to be moved to larger venues in the three big hotels. I'll be honest with you, that would suit me JUST FINE, because I'm back in an ankle brace right now, and I will probably be wearing one--maybe two--as a preventative measure. My room is in the Hilton, so the less distance I have to traipse and the fewer lollygaggers I have to slay, the better (WAAAAAALK!!!).

I think someone else has organized a specific Hannibal fan meetup, but I'm not sure when yet. Rather than schedule a meetup of our (Tattle Crime-associated) own, our plan is for me to show up early (hella early) to all of Scott Thompson and Aaron Abrams' events, since fans will go to those anyway, and so you'll be able to find me and/or hang out there. NOTE: Be advised that Saturday will be HELL to get to, because Scott and Aaron's "Brunch" panel (not literally a brunch) is the same morning as the parade. I will probably leave my room extra early that morning and just camp out at that location for a few hours. We just live here now.

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 4

1:00 PM - Hannibal: Aptitretare
Aaron Abrams and Scott Thompson dissect Hannibal’s elegant take on the horror genre.
Panelists: Aaron Abrams, Scott Thompson. Moderator: John Ichabod Anderson.
Location: Westin Augusta Ballroom

8:30 PM - Hannibal Fannibals
Fans of Bryan Fuller’s visionary serial killer thriller unite!
Panelists: Michelle Belanger, Cleolinda Jones, Catherine M Scully, Karen E. Taylor, Wolven, and the voice of Freddie Lounds! Moderator: Henry Hanks.
Location: Peachtree 1-2 of the Westin Peachtree Plaza

It me! We will be giving away a couple of signed scripts this year as well (a surprise last year that I super enjoyed dropping on people) and, among other unofficial goodies, a full collection of This Is My Design samples (I think this is what we've decided on). Also, Freddie and Kristen and I have come up with a William Blake/episode title-themed eyeshadow to give out preview samples of, and I'm really excited about that. }:D

ETA: The Name of the Eyeshadow Is 666.

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 5

11:30 AM - Hannibal: Brunch
Aaron Abrams and Scott Thompson dissect Hannibal’s elegant take on the horror genre.
Panelists: Aaron Abrams, Scott Thompson. Moderator: Wolven.
Location: Hyatt Regency VI-VII

ADDED:

8:30 PM - 5 Truths and a Lie
Location: Hilton Grand Ballroom West

I can't guarantee that I'll be able to get into this one; the storyteller guests are Aaron Abrams, Scott Thompson, Amber Benson, Merrin Dungey, Jesse Rath and Naomi Grossman--so, a multi-fandom crowd.

SUNDAY

11:30 AM - Hannibal: Efterrätt
Aaron Abrams and Scott Thompson dissect Hannibal’s elegant take on the horror genre
Panelists: Aaron Abrams, Scott Thompson. Moderator: John Ichabod Anderson.
Westin Peachtree Ballroom A-F

MONDAY

1:00 PM - The Horror Will Be Televised
Horror has exploded on television - we’ll discuss our favorite shows as well as existing properties that we think would make great shows.
Panelists: Henry Hanks, Catherine M Scully, Derek Tatum.
Location: Peachtree 1-2 of the Westin Peachtree Plaza

Not specifically Hannibal, but you can see how the subject might come up. I'm not leaving until Tuesay morning; if I'm not exhausted or virulently contagious by that point, I may be around to hang out at that point.

In summary, it looks like I'll be camping/hanging out in the morning, with the actor panels done by early/mid-afternoon, and my panel is on Friday evening, assuming I don't fall off a cliff in the next 9-10 days. My goal is to meet people (you can sign my notebook!) so please feel free to say hi if you see me. BY MY FLOWER CROWN YOU WILL KNOW ME.
