It's the kind of day where I almost forgot it was Friday. That kind of week, really.

So what does it say about me when I find that this episode horrified me more than pretty much any other one?

And hoo boy that ending. Looks like Will brought dinner again. He's so thoughtful that way.

My favorite part of the episode: Will and Margot's chat. I could almost ship them if the episode hadn't confirmed that Margot is a lesbian.

But Margot and Bedelia can share the big beach umbrella and talk about how they realized Hannibal was a scary killer.

I ship Freddie/Margot! We need a ship name!

That being said, I know she's a Lesbian, but I still think we're getting Will/Margot this season [Spoiler (click to open)] next episode we're getting the crazy 5 person sex scene and I bet Will/Margot happens then. I think I read somewhere that she tries to get pregnant to usurp Mason, so what if she's using Will to get a baby so she can inherit Mason if something "happens" to him? I'd prefer Will and Margot as friends, unfortunately I'm not sure that's where it's heading.

I was so glad they included that line. There were a lot of people convinced she'd have sex with Will, which...would have been at worst offensive and at best kind of cheap. So I'm glad they've established her with a fairly subtle line.

I was glad that was clearly established as well. For a second there I thought she was trying to hit on him, and I was like, "Oh no this would be bad, so BAD." As soon as she revealed that, I relaxed quite a bit. Neither Will nor Margot needs yet another totally messed up relationship in their lives.

Yeah, it would have been a really bad idea for them both in-universe and out-of-universe. I admit, I was worried when I saw the clip of them drinking in the dark (seriously, Will, TURN ON A LAMP) and though it was potentially heading to shippy places. I'm glad Margot was able to establish pretty easily to the audience that that wasn't happening.

I don't think Will has the emotional capacity right now (because he's too focused on ending Hannibal) to put the moves on anybody with alcohol and mood lighting. He just drinks whiskey in the dark because turning on lights is hard, and the darkness expresses the torment of his soul.

Heh, that's a fair point. I agree, he doesn't have the energy or motivation to be pursuing anyone right now, which is why I was worried a sex scene would be thrown in -- it wouldn't flow from what we've seen and would feel cheap.

I don't even think Will can really feel anything other than darkness and anger at this point. He has a (distressingly familiar) air of "I'm dead inside and all I can do is hate everybody and their bullshit." That's why he's being so direct and blunt about everything; Will Graham cannot even with this shit right now, because even-ing with this shit requires allocating spare resources he just doesn't have.
