Due to the computer trouble (see the previous entry) and also my general and regrettable allergy to deadlines, I haven't finished the Breaking Dawn thing yet. However, even if I do finish it this weekend… I'm not sure when it will be appropriate to post it, given the

Boy, 9 3/4, had the Best. Time. Ever. So excited. Got most of the humor, loved the action.
Boy, 8 1/4, fell asleep pretty early on and woke up just before the end. Not a surprise because when his body decides to sleep, nothing stops him. He's very grumpy about the whole thing and eager to see it and stay awake. This is the child who asked for, and got, a giant rubber spider on his... 4th, I think? birthday cake because he loves Shelob.
Girl, 7 and some, dozed once or twide but saw most of it. A bit antsy and whiny but that's just her no matter what. A little distressed at the big fight at the end.
Girl, just past 5. World's Biggest Gollum Fan. "He's cute! ::hoarse voice:: 'Shut up!' 'What?' 'I'm not talking to you!' 'My precioussssssss!'" Loved "the one with the braids" (later determined to be Thorin). "Bilbo killed the big white dog to save him!" A little jumpy during some of the action, particularly at intentional scary reveals like Gollum suddenly appearing behind Bilbo and menacing him, but all in all, was pretty riveted.
Actually, sitting through the umpteen previews was the hardest. Quoth the youngest, "This is not Lord of the Rings! This is not the right movie!"
A morning/afternoon showing would have been better but this was a time that actually worked with everybody's work/school/activity schedule so it went as well as we could have hoped.
