Northwestern Mutual Pledges Financial Support to Severe Weather Recovery
Effort in the Midwest
Financial Security Company Provides Disaster Relief Funds to American Red
Cross
MILWAUKEE, June 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Northwestern Mutual is reaching out to
help its clients and other victims of recent flooding and tornado damage in
the Midwest. The Milwaukee-based financial security company has made an
immediate impact on the relief effort through a $75,000 grant from the
Northwestern Mutual Foundation to the American Red Cross Central States Flood
and Tornadoes Relief Fund. The fund provides relief in Illinois, Indiana,
Iowa, Kansas, Missouri and Wisconsin.
"The Midwest has been our home for more than 150 years," said Edward J. Zore,
Northwestern Mutual president and CEO. "The destruction of these storms and
floods touches our employees and many of our financial representatives and
clients in direct way. We hope our efforts will help families focus on
recovering and rebuilding."
Service enhancements for flood and storm victims
Knowing the disruption Northwestern Mutual clients are enduring as they may
be displaced from their homes and businesses, the company has temporarily
extended the grace period for life, disability income and long-term care
insurance policies that would otherwise lapse due to delayed payments. This
applies to clients in Iowa and in counties in Illinois and Indiana that have
been declared disaster areas. Northwestern Mutual will work with clients to
determine payment options to meet special needs.
Clients who may have a change of address, need to change electronic funds
transfer directions, or have other service needs are asked to contact their
financial representatives or call the Northwestern Mutual customer service
area at 1-800-388-8123.
On behalf of the Northwestern Mutual family
"From the beginning of these recent storms and through this time of recovery,
I know many of our employees and financial representatives have donated their
own time and money to disaster relief," Zore continued. "This company
donation is made on behalf of all the members of the Northwestern Mutual
family who always give so generously in time of need."
The Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company, Milwaukee, WI, a FORTUNE 500
company with over $1 trillion of life insurance protection in force, has been
helping its policyowners and clients achieve financial security for more than
150 years. The company maintains the highest available ratings for insurance
financial strength from all four major rating agencies: Standard & Poor's,
