How I spent my Thanksgiving Holiday

Nov 27, 2008 20:52

Got up, partook of the small pharmacy prescribed for my ear infection, ate an early Thanksgiving feast, courtesy of my wife and mother-in-law, went to Texas Stadium to watch the final Thanksgiving Day game there between the Cowboys and Seahawks (Cowboys Win!).

As we're leaving the stadium parking lot, we see a man in a Roger Staubach jersey carrying his son, who is obviously tuckered out. There is no evident location that they may be heading to (car, cab, bus, etc.), so we offer them a ride. It seems Dad was taking his five (going on six) year old son to his very first pro football game. The kid could not stop talking about it. They were headed to a transit station to pick up their car. We gave them a ride.

When we finally got home, we had a turkey sandwich for dinner while the Princess Bride had Christmas in Connecticut on TV, featuring one of my favorite "That Guy!" actors, S.Z. Sakall.

A perfect ending to a perfect day.

holiday, life
