Now that we're moved into the house, the daunting task of home ownership is in full swing. We're not really settled in yet. The upstairs needed a complete repainting (not counting problems in the bathroom), so we've set up a temporary base camp/sleeping quarter in the dining room downstairs. Hopefully tomorrow night I'll be able to finish all the needed painting in our room so that we can start moving our stuff into the room Saturday. I think actually having a bedroom will go a long way towards feeling moved in. Once we're done with our room, we're going to move on to the baby's room and then the spare room. Pat was supposed to be moving in with us around the end of the month, but he still hasn't stabilized his finances so we're back looking for a new roommate. Worst case scenario is that Pat moves in some time this winter, but I'd really like to have someone in place much sooner than that. Also on my agenda: I need to replace a few light fixtures and do some minor - moderate rewiring. Not that big of a deal, I just need to wait until we can afford it. Once we're a bit more settled I'd like to have an official house warming party.
I started my new job this month. The difference in stress levels is amazing. My new job is much more physical involving a lot of moving around yet the flow of work is sporadic so I find myself getting at least 4 hours worth of break time during any given shift.
Oh, and something terrible happened during the move.... I dropped my X-box 360 and now it won't read games. I think I broke the lens. I'm trying to find a decent place that I can send it to get fixed. Failing that, I'm just going to sell the broken console on ebay. I need video games...
