School's back in, and I'm immediately back to being sleep-deprived and behind on my marking. My life, ladies and gentlemen. *shakes head* Soooo, instead of being productive, I'm going to do this meme! Life choices! :D
Reply to this post with 'memesheep!' (why not?), and I will pick three of your icons for you to talk about in your own journal; please then keep the meme going by making this offer on your post.
Here are the userpics
beelikej wanted to know more about:
[ns] ivory tower - never keep both feet on the ground
This is a picture of the Ivory Tower from The Neverending Story, which is still one of my favourite movies of all time. The subquote is inspired by the part in the film where Bastian's dad tells him that he needs to start 'keeping both feet on the ground' and live in the real world instead of dreaming and imagining all the time. I never want to be so 'grown up' that I forget how to dream, which I think is a large part of the reason why I adore this film, even though I'm technically too old for children's movies. In terms of design, it's a screenshot from the film with some minor Photoshop colour adjustment and a border that I added on.
[text] bullshit - made by
mithborien *laughs* God, I love this icon. As the subquote indicates, it was made for me by
mithborien as part of the art she created for my 2012
spn_j2_bigbang story,
Superheroes Suck, or, The Unfortunately Extraordinary Life of Jensen Ackles. I'm still really proud of this story, both because I got to mess with people's expectations in a way that (most) people didn't seem to see coming, and because snarky Jensen is my favourite. This icon gets more use than the other two quote ones she made me, if only because this line doesn't make it seem like I'm directly insulting the person I'm responding to.
[ck] browns
Oh, Christian Kane. Unsurprisingly, I knew him first as a regularly reoccurring character in the J2 fic I was reading, and only afterwards as an actor and musician in his own right. I am now a big fan of him in all capacities, and when I came across this picture (in a computer background, if I'm remembering correctly), it was just so pretty that I had to make it an icon. There's not much call in my infrequent posting for a Chris Kane icon, but I'm keeping it anyway. I don't think I did anything to it except crop the original image, because I am LAZY.
Also, because I am shameless, I may as well throw it out there that I put one of my older stories up for artist grabs at
quicky-bang. Y'know. In case anyone's interested.
Watch this space for something more interesting tomorrow!
