I just went to see "the Winter Soldier" and I really enjoyed it! Not a big fan of the 1st movie here, because I have a prejudice against movies of old times (past Greek myths anyway), but thanks to the Avengers, Cap grew more interesting to my eyes (though it was "diluted" with his fellow Avengers).
This time, though he shares some of the light with Natasha, he's very much in the spotlight, and quite deservingly so. What I don't like in general with the character of Captain America (not following Cap's comics adventures though) is that he carries the image of an ideal, something smooth and straightforward... and a little dumb (somewhat I put in the same bag Cap and Superman, being a noob about them). In the movie, and it was broached in the Avengers, he shows that he's not only muscles, but he also has his own judgement, which elevates him some steps higher than the average no-brainer soldier who only executes orders without thinking.

By the way, I'm not so much into going to movies the 1st week of their release, but as I had read on Tumblr that the next Agent of SHIELD episode has spoilers for the movie, I felt obliged to go watch it as soon as possible.
I also saw some images of Bucky and Falcon at promotion interviews and seeing Sebastian Stan with short hairs bothered me because I felt I had seen him before (and no, I quite didn't see him in Captain America 1, because I was playing Mario Paper while the movie was playing on my other screen ^^;; ). So I googgled him when I went back home (thanks to post-credit scenes for making me stay during the credits and see the names of all the cast), and that was it, I knew he had played a role that struck me before: The Mad Hatter in Once Upon a Time, a neurotic and unpredictable guy that really left a mark on me, like a bad guy that you really feel sympathy for and want to see being redeemed or find happiness.

On another aspect, what was a bit disturbing for me as I watched the movie (thanks to the heavy action, it was not too disturbing) is that I had in mind some words I read from Chris Evans, and from the promotion interview in Paris, where he said (not a quote, but more the idea I got from his actual words) that this type of movie leaves quite little time to actually perform his job as an actor, to impersonate someone else, though jumping around avoiding explosions is quite specific to Cap and his pals. That made me feel bad for him, especially as some of his other words made it feel like he's imprisoned in his role of Cap (though he's perfectly aware of the great chance it is to be brought in the spotlight), which is truly not a role that puts the highlight on acting, versus flexing his biceps ^^;;;

Back to the movie, I really liked Black Widow part, which was much more developed than what I had envisioned when she was announced in the movie! I liked the fact that there is no hint of any romance of love interest with Cap, that they become real "comrades in arms", and even Natasha sometimes appeared more badass, what with being so cold and detached, compared to the caring and worrying Cap. The movie also showed some cracks in the image of cold perfection of a spy she is since the beginning and I really liked that (her attachment to Fury, the hints of her dark past appearing more palpable than in the Avengers...). I can't wait to read more about her solo movie, though she announced during the promotion interview that she would soon begin her 1st movie as a director (poor Chris who thought it was about him and his already finished 1st movie as a director!), so it may be quite some time before we hear about it.

A thing I regret about the movie, and this may be due to a not-so-clever move on the promotional team, is that we don't see much about the neighbor "nurse" that was supposed to be the new love interest of Cap. She even was supposed to have a certain family link with a certain other character but nothing was said about it in the movie and I wonder if it was fans speculation or what... and Cap is certainly still a virgin to modern days lady, be it in body and mind (as he says, he's "too busy" and that certainly shows in this movie!). Anyway, I loved her in "Revenge" and I was very eager to see more of her in this movie... too much hope, I guess, though I hope they catch up in the last part of Cap's trilogy (I was about to say "threesome" XDDDD ).

I will finish with Winter Soldier himself, though he didn't quite have a "role" as a character but rather impersonated the traditional big burly villain who is so strong he can only be defeated with the hero almost dying. He seems to come like the 2nd one to be the villain people will come to love, along with Loki, a little less manic than his Asgardian counterpart though, and for the moment, a lot less developed. With his dark looks and quite an engaging face in spite of wearing a mask for a good half of his screen time, he's perfect for a good tortured redemption and a lasting presence in the coming movies (I just read he signed for 9 MCU movies).
