I HAVE INTERNET! MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!
Sorry that I'm not updating really long or more often yet, but I've been CRAZY busy for the last two days, and I've only actually had the internet for less than 48 hours.
For a superbrief recap, in the last two days I've seen the West Cork farmland countryside, a ring fort, a stone circle (think stonehenge), the foundation of a Neolithic house, a Neolithic cookery site, a ruined castle, been inside and to the top of a kickass ruined tower, and frolicked on the Irish coast in the ocean.
I've also taken something like 300/400 pictures in the last week, but the batteries are deader than dead. Tot. Sehr tot. Mause tot. And the camera has to be on for me to upload them. They're charging now though, so maybe when everyone leaves tonight I'll set it up.
You know, I realized that yesterday was the first time I'd seen the ocean since being in Ireland. Which means I went 10 days without seeing the ocean. Which is the longest it's been since I can remember. I live on the ocean. I go to school on the ocean. My last major vacation (the cruise) was on the ocean. When I go to Maine, I only spend 6 total days without seeing it. Even when we were in Austria we were on it on the way to Venice. I really honestly can't remember the last time I went 10 days without seeing the ocean.
Ok, ok, I know you want more, and I have tons more to say, but my friend Jessica (who looks like Dr. Zipf a little) is coming over and we're going to have a laundry hurling party! Hee hee, it looks silly when put together like that. She doesn't have a laundry thing in her apartment, so she's coming over to use mine. And we're going to watch the giant huge Hurling match on TV. It's the all Ireland finals, Cork vs. Kilkenny. Up Cork! Up the Rebels! Jessica is a football fan too, (although she has the tragic misfortune of being delusionally devoted to the Denver Broncos...she defends this by saying that she's from Colorado, but cleary she may as well just worship Satan). Anyway, we decided to treat the Hurling match like any old sports event and tailgate! This means nachos, and whatever other kinds of tailgating foods we can find in Ireland. I'm betting not much. Still, we'll improvise.
Don't worry Amanda, I'll never have as much fun as if I were home watching the Pats. :)
Toodles then!
