my total haul from my trip to the beach today. :D
Birthday was yesterday and the universe worked overtime to make it pretty damn awesome so sorry to any of you who indirectly suffered from the universe's inattention. As my previous post made pretty clear, I got into UMass Boston against some rather crazy odds so HOORAY! As Tara so correctly points out when I'm drowning in work this time next year I'll wonder why exactly that was so exciting, but for now it's pretty great. Meaghan and I went to Applebees for dinner because they promise a free birthday desert on the website, but oh no people, Applebees is NOT cool. Not cool at all. The stupid waitress wouldn't serve me a drink, even though it was my birthday because I have a Massachusetts "ID" rather than a license. Hello? Seriously? SERIOUSLY? Right, because I'm going to make a fake id and choose to make an "Official ID" instead of a "License". Because "ID"'s are totally more believable. LAME.
No worries though, I made up for this disappointment with some grand retail therepy at Marshalls, the Christmas Tree Shop & Old Navy. Hooray sales and clearance racks! Happy Birthday to me! :P
Today was more or less a nothing day, Spring Break started today, officially so I'm bumming around Newport with no classes. Slept in, showered and goofed around online for a few hours. Eventually the gorgeousness of the day drove me outside at quarter to two and I walked my bouncy little self down Bellevue to the beach where I chilled out with some seagulls until a quintet of Canadian geese showed up and scared me away. Geese are tough sonsabitches guys. Totally not cowardice. On the way back I was accosted by a nice Asian tourist-man who I gave the wrong directions to the Breakers. Well, he misunderstood me and I didn't feel like chasing him down and correcting him so whoops there goes my Karma for the day. Ah well! I'm pretty unconcerned which tells me that I'm rather a terrible person. Oh well!
I was most of the way home when I realized that the perfect compliment to my day would be a french vanilla iced coffee with cream and extra sugar! So I walked past home on down to the newly renovated and thank goodness reopened D&D and got one.
All in all I was out about two and a half hours and it was grand. Presently Jess Meaghan and I are proving we're the coolest kids on the block by sitting around the living room watching Wheel of Fortune and eagerly awaiting Jeopardy.
You want my life. Go on, admit it.
