Late bandwagon jumper is late. This happens when a convention occurs and then I pick up the most hated person in the entire universe.
I'll probably end up doing one of these for each of my characters. Rena gets to be first, since she hasn't had much to say in her own journal lately.
NAME: Rena Ryuugu. Usually introduces herself in the Japanese sense (last first). Her adopted otousan calls her "Rena-chan," and Mikey's nicknamed her "Rena Red."
BIOGRAPHY: Originally from Hinamizawa, Rena's family moved to Ibaraki before she began primary school; however, when she snapped at the beginning of high school, she and her father moved back to Hinamizawa, just before Houjou Satoshi's "disappearance." Her parents are divorced - her mother had an affair and got pregnant by her lover, then became angry when Rena chose to live with her father - and hasn't spoken with her mother since. However, since her father has also grown distant from her - Rena feels it may be because his girlfriend was murdered (Rena was the killer; the woman was actually a prostitute, and playing her father for his money as ordered by her pimp, Houjou Satoko's uncle, who Rena also killed) - and since joining up with DDD, Rena has adopted Kuroudo Akabane as her father, hence "Akabane-tousan." This happened during the massacre, when Akabane awakened Oyashiro-sama within Rena, and the two went on a serial killing spree. Upon Akabane's own murder however, Oyashiro-sama was quelled, and she's been sane ever since; she even lives with Akabane-tousan now, but still goes back to school in Hinamizawa (despite the 25-year difference between her normal world and the one she lives in with her adopted otousan; Hinamizawa is stuck in 6 Showa 58 [June, 1983]).
AGE: Rena is fifteen years old, with her approximate birthdate being July 7, 1968.
HEIGHT: About four feet, ten and a half inches.
WEIGHT: Rena is very lightweight; I would estimate that she weighs about 86-95 pounds.
BODY TYPE: Though she's small, Rena is very light on her feet; a bit of a gymnast, she is atheletic. She doesn't have much of a body shape to her, but she does have a prounounced bustline and waist/hips (though not nearly as much as Sonozaki Mion and Shion). Her agility is best seen in her arc in the first season of Higurashi no Naku Koroni, when she leaps about dodging Keiichi's swings while still attacking with her cleaver.
FACE TYPE: Rena has a pretty round face, one that usually has an innocent look to it. Even when she is possessed by Oyashiro-sama, Rena still retains a sense of cuteness about her. It's not perfectly circular, per se, but it is more round than oval or heart-shaped.
COMPLEXION: She has slightly more pink than yellow in her skintone, due to being part European as well (this part is head-canon). Has yet to experience any sort of blemishes that usually befall teenagers, even when she's been dirtied up due to fights, murders, hiding bodies, and playing games. Scary how I list all of that off effortlessly, huh?
EYES: Cornflower blue, darkening just slightly when she's possessed. Otherwise, her eyes have a childlike innocence to them, and more of a sparkle when she's happy/found something cute.
HAIR: Fluffy bangs, shoulder-length, with an interesting wave to it; it tends to usually be around and just above her shoulders, as if it's framing her head and neck. It's a shade of red that's closer to cinnamon or nutmeg than actual crimson.
CLOTHING STYLE: Rena dresses in a very feminine manner; if she's not in her school uniform, she's wearing a white, just-past-knee-length dress with a blue collar and lavender bows at the neck and waist. The skirt is slit up to mid-thigh (but not in a sluttish manner, and she doesn't make it evident most of the time), and there are thigh-high black socks/tights and brown just-about-knee-high boots. It's all topped off with a white beret.
SPEAKING STYLE: Cute, childish, unless she's being serious or possessed. Rena has a tendency to talk about herself in the third person, and will repeat the ends of sentences, moreso if she's questioning something or is worried. Also, if she comes across something or someone she percieves as cute, she will make sure you know it ("AIEEEE! It's so cute, I want to take it home!"). Her voice grows soft and has a stammer when she's scared, worried, or crying.
GENERAL DEMEANOR: Rena is a very open, people-person. She'll go up to just about anyone and start talking; it's how she's made many of her friends on DramaDramaDuck. However, she's also very defensive of her friends and family; talk shit about Akabane, and Rena will get very angry. With people she knows she's wronged, Rena almost tiptoes around them, talking carefully as if she's afraid of being struck or shouted at. She could be percieved as naive, and she is sometimes; she's very observant though, and will speak up when it's least expected with something she remembers or saw.
CAREER: She's a high-school student, attending the one-classroom Hinamizawa school with her friends. Since the children are so few in number, they're all in the same room, but different grades.
PREJUDICES: She tends to distrust older women, particularly mothers or maternal types, because of her parents' divorce. Also does not quite trust the police, as they are still unable to locate Satoshi, nor have they been able to solve the "Oyashiro-sama's curse" murders. Otherwise, it's generally people that she percieves as mean (either to her, to her family, or her friends). Also, people who don't believe in Oyashiro-sama; Rena takes the god and the curse very seriously.
BEST QUALITIES: She's a very open person. Very observant and intelligent, despite first appearances. Rena is also loyal to her friends and family, and very forgiving; even knowing what she and Akabane had done in their massacre, she still forgave him, and apologized to those that they (or she) had wronged, injured, or killed.
WORST QUALITIES: Rena's naive to a fault at times. She can be seen as a doormat by some, because she's so forgiving. Also, the distrust of older women - even if she knows they mean well and have done nothing bad to her, Rena still won't completely trust them, because her mother hurt her so badly. The childish attitude she has is a downside as well, as she is much more mature than she makes herself out to be. She's also self-conscious (but then again, who isn't).
WEAKNESSES: It's an even split between Oyashiro-sama (canon) and Akabane-tousan (DDD-canon). She can't stand to hear anything ill spoken of either of them, and is a surefire way to get her angry enough to fight (possessed or not, Rena has her cleaver with her).
HOBBIES: Rena likes to cook; she makes huge, elaborate boxed lunches that are always ready for extra people. One of her favorite side dishes to make is ohagi, and in DDD, she taught herself how to make chocolate for Valentine's Day. It was messy, but it was a success! Rena also enjoys playing games - just about any sort of game - and is quite good; she and Keiichi battled to a draw in a water pistol fight.
TALENTS: Killing people and getting away with it? The cooking could also be considered a talent, I suppose. Kinda sucks that the animé canon doesn't really go into her character as much as it could.
