she & him - why do you let me stay here?

Why hello there my dear neglected blog!
To be completely honest I really don't know what prompted this post. Perhaps it's because I finally actually have a free weekend without a Monday exam (Which of course came at an extremely steep price that inevitably led to suffering from by far the most horrible module of my entire med school life EVER. It involved Module exams in the same week... the logic for such punishment continues to escape me.) or... dun dun dun... for some reason I may be feeling a little inspired by C**n's unearthed blog. Not to be complete b*tch (yeah right) but like Teddy and the others, I found it insanely hilarious for reasons that should NOT be funny AT ALL. I can feel myself burning in hell already.
First of all, C**n was quite the character. I could never understand her complete lack of a functional set of social skills and her outstanding ability to fail at following orders made for five year olds. Someone like this surviving (though barely) in any medical school could only be one of two things (1) pure unadulterated genius or (2) the exact opposite. I won't bother to voice out which of the two I'm more inclined to believe because it's pretty darned obvious plus I'd rather not to make myself look more evil than I really am. (hah! mean feat!)
That said, can't say I'm completely unaffected by her posts and her perception of the school and the students. Perhaps, it's just funny that we tend to assume so many things about so many people. For all I know, somewhere (yes, still on earth) C**n could actually be considered a goddess. I do realize that we could have misjudged her just as she had misjudged us... Not that it really appeals to my conscience. And come on how can a black and blue bruise covering AT LEAST HALF of my arm be misjudged as anything other than ineptitude?!? That aside I do still tend to feel bad for avoiding her like the plague when it's groupmate choosing season. Ah well life happens and I do sincerely hope that she's doing fine wherever she may be... but seriously I don't think anyone in my class (yes, even the popularity hungry social climbers) only befriend people who have cars and money. Geeez!
OK enough of that. Before I make myself look even more b*tchy and sound less sincere. Hahaha as if that were even possible.

OK so I have established the fact that I can't be any less b*tchy, so what can be better than to find a bunch of people you can be complete b*tches with!!! Such is the case with my new love, Kenneth the Great! :D
Nina and Mimi: *screams in terror upon spotting a filthy Mr. Cockroach*
Nina: Oliver can you please kill that?
Oliver: *says nothing and starts staring at Kenneth*
Kenneth: Oliver, I know what you're thinking. Ayoko nga! I'm wearing Prada!
Kenneth: *fiddling with his laptop*
Cris: I thought you were studying!!! I was going to say na super bait no these days.
Kenneth: I am studying. Well, I was but I finished the trans so it's time for Fashion Week!
Kenneth: I want a Burberry coat. Notwithstanding the (a) hot weather in Manila and (b) the impractical price tag, I WANT a Burberry coat.
Joseph: Then get one! Who's stopping ya?
Kenneth: Erm...unemployment? haha
This reminds me I've finally managed to wear the Calvin Klein knee high out THREE times!!! Twice to events with people I actually know and once to a random trip to Rockwell. I'm finally beginning to think it doesn't look so out of place in an infernally hot country like the Philippines but of course I still don't have the guts to actually wear them out as often as I like. Hahaha it also helps that Kenneth, Cris, Hazel and Rica absolutely love them. Best part is I got it for only $62 dollars in Hawaii! SCORE!!! If only there were some way to make them less killer-ish. I made the mistake of wearing them on my return flight to Manila from Hawaii and lo and behold I was rewarded with a battalion of angry looking blisters. Aaaah, the things we oh so willingly sacrifice for style.
I fear I'm developing a taste for extremely expensive designer brands. Hahaha and really, I honestly loved the White Armani Dress that I also got in Hawaii until I saw Chiara Sotto wear it in Mano Po 6. Yes, I do realize I'm being irrational here considering that the stylist was pretty good and chose a lot of clothes (yes, clothes that I'd actually wear) from TopShop and Zara. But but but!!! Mano Po was a complete disaster of a movie and I'd really rather not be mistaken as a fan. I seriously doubt Mano Po 6 could have been any less pretentious and desperate to be "Chinese". This coming from a self proclaimed 100% Fake Chinese Girl really means a whole LOT. I can confidently say I look and sound more Chinese by leap years than uh say... 99% of the cast!?! What on earth is wrong with mainstream Filipino movies anyway?

As for news on the less b*tchy and ditzy side of the world... Raymonde and I are developing what seems to be a strange obsession with playing Pokemon! At 24 I really think we're too old for such things and definitely WAAAAY too old to be spending too much time trading and trying to cheat the computer. Of course the computer was one step ahead of us and our Pokemon trading/trafficking scheme. Much to our dismay we found out that traded Pokemon will only obey you while they're level 10 and under. Easy right, just get badges! Trouble is you need the second badge to make the little boogers cooperate until level 30. And let me just tell you that you get to the second gym at a considerably late part of the game. At least later than the last Pokemon game that I played. @_@ Aah well I suppose medical school is not exactly the best setting to be constantly training, catching and trading Pokemon anyway. XD

To end this already ridiculously long entry on a high note, I'm posting a picture we took during wine night! Hahaha I bet a normal person won't even be able to tell that one person in the group is actually a medical school module coordinator and a training officer in one of the country's leading tertiary care hospitals. Aaah ophthas and their amazing lifestyle filled with wine nights, Italy dinners, designer clothes and insanely loveable personalities. *sigh* Makes me really want to go into ophtha instead. Hahaha there's nothing quite like marching towards Moneyland in style. :p
I must say I love wine night and having great friends to go out with is simply just icing on the cake. Hahaha so imagine how shocking it was to find that we actually had a surprise guest! Who else but our Ophtha Module coordinator! :D He's insanely hilarious and even treated us to two bottles of wine. Yay for relief goods because medical school is an onslaught of catastrophes! And though I don't need to say this again. I so loooooooooove Ophtha and Dr. V!!! :D :D :D
