Not everyone enjoys the sun, particularly not nocturnal trolls. Thankfully, when this particular troll first arrived, he wasn't far from one of the caves that dotted the hills in the middle of the island. He had retreated deep into one of them and built himself a little nest ( Read more... )

Unfortunately, just as Sollux was on his way out, Devit was on his way in, rushing through the door with little regard for who might be on the other side. It was the perfect recipe for disaster, or would have been if Devit hadn't managed to stop himself before crashing into the troll. He glared at him, hardly taking note of the weird getup. He'd seen plenty of weirdos since arriving on the island; a guy with fabric over his face didn't garner anything more than a cursory glance, especially when Devit was busy being annoyed.

"Hey, watch where you're going!" he snapped, brushing past him. "Fucking idiot..."

Sollux stopped dead and stared after Devit, red and blue eyes glaring out of a wrapping of towel. This guy...

"Hey wait," he blurted out before he thought better of it, and grabbed for Devit's arm with his free hand. At the same moment, the towel slipped, falling to the floor and baring his own grey skin and small horns.

Wait, no. He couldn't be a troll. Sollux' eyes flickered up to the nonexistent horns, and then down again at the grey skin. What the hell?

Stopping short, Devit glared over his shoulder and tried to shrug away from Sollux's grip. "What the hell, do you mind?! I'm trying to get some fucking--whoa." He blinked as the towel fell away, revealing gray skin, and frowned. "What the hell are you?"

Sollux grimaced slightly, letting go of the other boy and eyeing him in confusion. He had thought there were only humans on this island, though he hadn't seen very many people at all. He couldn't figure out what this was, though - a human/troll hybrid? Ew.

"I'm a troll," he said, irritated, but too curious to get very upset just yet. "What the fuck are you?"

Feferi wasn't sure how she'd reached the resort but since she had arrived, she'd been determined to experience as much as she could. During the day she'd taken to hiding out underwater, deep enough that the humans wouldn't disturb her. By night, she would wander the resort, avoiding the humans where she could but not really so bothered if they noticed her.

Now, she made her way towards the buffet tables, unaware that the betowelled figure was in fact another troll.

Sollux was so focused on getting in and getting out that he almost missed her, but a flash of grey skin out of the corner of his eye made him stop and look around, pulling the towel back.

Quickly he stripped it off and threw it on the floor. "FF?"

The familiar voice caused Feferi to look up and she grinned when she laid eyes on her fellow troll. She ran over, hugging him enthusiastically but carefully enough that she didn't knock or spill anything she shouldn't.

"Sollux! I was beginning to think I was the only troll here!"

"Oh my gog," he exclaimed, awkwardly wrapping his free hand around her waist to return the hug and feeling his face flush. "Me too. How long have you been here?"
