Fine Arts fest was pretty good today. Dyl's portfolio was the shit, congrats man. This year had excellent portfolios n all. Photography had good stuff too, but a lot (and i do mean a lot) of the digital stuff they did was TERRIBLE. So many pictures had noticable gaps as well as horrible selections for layers, imbalance of levels between layers and just bad placement of things. The winning piece for that was horrific. I mean come on, that baseball was all rough on the edge of it with a giant streak from the brush tool, and was nowhere near seamless intergration etc. The one above it should have won. I also think Nohemy's digital piece on that wall should have placed. One piece I really did enjoy was Rachel Van Valkenberg's self portrait-like piece. It was very good with the emphasis on the lips n and the edges to define the areas when it was all one color was excellent.
I had nothing to show this year; I took no art classes this year. However, I have a photo in Ramblings this year when that comes out. In metals I chucked my project into a wall and it left a huge hole. Yay.
Matt and I made up want ads for a drummer yesterday and he took them to Sam Ash etc. Hopefully we get a drummer real soon since Struif and Paul Sorenson didn't work out.
